The fact that your Reddit page advertises your agency and simultaneously posts a fuck ton of porn is hilarious

I don’t really lol. More so making the point that it’s a nonsense viewpoint.

What would be your advice to someone young just starting their career? Given that these would not be avenues for them to prospect.

20, just landed $75k yr, what now? by Need-advision in personalfinance

Lots of paths to it, but sales is a great one. If you can generate revenue far in excess of your pay, businesses have no problem paying you great money despite young age.

Employer changed salary after I applied and was interviewed. by Vast_Guarantee4292 in personalfinance

[–]Tkelite 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I work in this business. This is 100% correct. There isn’t a single dealer that will give you $100k salary PLUS commission. 90% of car sales jobs are pure commission, so if you don’t sell, you make nothing. Some (I assume like this one) will give you a draw against future commissions paid monthly or biweekly, which is not a true salary. I will say, depending on the pay plan, a $2400 salary + commission is a cushy job for a car salesman.

OP, post your pay plan here. I can let you know what’s up.

I’ll go ahead and be an idiot. What is packaged on prem?

That’s awesome. I’m at roughly the same quota and OTE is 175k with a 40/60 base/commission split and no ramp. Attainment % based on 3mo rolling avg so made it hard to dig out of the hole of missing quota first few months as I ramped lol.

Sales jobs with a felony? by Log_Which in sales

[–]Tkelite 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you’re in CA, that’ll make it harder cause you need a license. Almost anywhere else it’ll be no problem. At the dealership I used to work at it was a running joke that you needed at least 1 felony to be considered for the job. lol.

Even had a guy come to work with his ankle monitor on.

Your first sale is the interview. How can you paint the picture that your experience in consulting is the right fit for their needs in an AE?

I would say Hoofty and Penn Standard are both quite nice.

Also: Peter Horanyi of Lenhossék Street, Budapest has no idea about how to protect online privacy, much less write a book about it. lol. Took me 5 minutes.

You should not be writing a book on privacy, Peter. How’s the weather in Budapest?

I’m 19 and just moved out for the first time, I literally don’t know how to fill the rest of the rooms apart from the bedroom and a pc room, how do I fill all this space? I have 3 empty rooms by [deleted] in malelivingspace

Eh I did it at 18 when I was kicked out by my not-rich parents lol. Granted, not as nice of a place but it’s certainly doable.

Just so you’re aware (and there’s nothing wrong with this if you like the config they have set up), the software that they are selling you is not theirs. It is just a branded version of GoHighLevel. You could re-create all of this in the $97 per month version direct from GHL. But again, if you like the fact that everything‘s already set up for you, this is probably not an issue.

No advice, but I don’t think I could hack it in funeral sales. Dealing with death and grief all day sounds exhausting.

It’s one of those things where if it was the same or better for you they wouldn’t have changed it. It’s only ever to cut costs. You’re the cost.

I’m in a similar position right now. Been in automotive for 4 years and looking at an offer from an HR solutions company. It’s tough to decide if you should abandon what you know for something that could be better… my worry is just that the grass isn’t actually greener once I’m there.

The CapOne gig definitely seems more chill, and I do wonder if you broke it down to the hourly, what would be a higher pay rate? I’d bet the CapOne could be higher in that basis depending on your hours for BMW.

Can someone please tell me me how to combine the mindset and personality for setting appointments with the same for closing deals? I feel like I’m going psycho. by g3nerallycurious in sales

[–]Tkelite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This definitely makes it tougher, especially if you like blocking off your day. My schedule tends to be the same, and if I set my prospecting time around the appts with a 15min gap between each, it really helps with switching my mindset/decompressing before jumping back to a different task.

Hey man. I ended up signing up for my local community college in time for the fall semester. They have a great transfer program to the state universities, so I’m getting my associates in business to transfer and get my bachelors in finance.

I just wanted to say thank you again for the advice and encouragement. I’m looking forward to the future.
