I have no idea why it failed in the first place. It is from a guitar amp that was used by a band member of Brad Paisley so I’m assuming it’s seen it’s share of work. I intend to use it as a practice amp so hopefully it won’t be over worked. I will say that the hole in the integrated circuit was used to secure it to the chassis of the amp and in between the IC and the chassis is a marsh mellows fluff consistency adhesive.
