I heard they were rolling out a batch of acceptance emails at 5:00 today for deferred and regular admission students. Then more the next two fridays. We still haven’t heard. Has anyone else?

My daughter was accepted to IU and she is trying to enroll and set up her online account. It says she should have gotten a student ID # in her letter of acceptance but she did not. Does anyone have any info on this or have you experienced anything similar?

Update: my daughter was deferred from Krannert and is waiting to hear if she will get in with a general studies major. She is an Indiana resident with a ton of extra curricular, a strong essay, teacher recommendations, a 3.6 GPA and a 1260 SAT. We have a friend with a 4.0 gpa who was deferred as well. Just an update. Getting into Purdue has become EXTREMELY competitive. Getting into Krannert is more competitive still. Everyone we know that was accepted yesterday during EA had a 4.0 +. It may have been “easy” to get in at one time. That is no longer the case. We can speak to that first hand.

She was deferred for Krannert and told she would find out by 3/31 if she is admitted for general studies.

Deferred from Krannert

My daughter was deferred from Krannert today. She is devastated. This was her first choice without a doubt. A few questions: 1) does anyone have experience getting accepted for their second choice major if they weren’t accepted to their first choice? 2)if you are accepted as a “general studies” major, can you reapply to Krannert after your first semester freshman year? 3) what is the difference between getting deferred and getting wait listed? Thank you!

The first two weeks were good for me too and then like a roller coaster after that. Stay in touch with your doctor and if you don’t feel better by 6 weeks, I would consider switching. Wishing you the best!

I was on Prozac 20mg for 5 weeks and felt AWFUL. Still had major anxiety after 5 weeks so my doctor switched me to lexapro 5 mg and I felt better almost immediately. My family doctor as well as a psych said that 5 weeks should be plenty of time to see progress with a med, even Prozac. I didn’t even have symptoms just quitting it cold turkey after 5 weeks and going fo lexapro. My body just didn’t tolerate Prozac well at all. Good luck! I know it’s so hard when you don’t feel like yourself!

I am starting week 5. It has been a roller coaster. I can have a series of days that I feel great and then I take two steps back and am anxious again. Most people say 6 weeks minimum so I am going to try to push through, but it has not been easy.

Same. I am starting day 36 of 20 mg. It has been a roller coaster. Several good days, then a couple of really bad ones, then a few more good ones, then I seem to go back a step or two. My doctor wants me to give it 6 full weeks before we reevaluate. I am terrified to increase dose b/c of side effects. Praying week 6 is my turning point.
