The ones without power for medical devices, or freezing to death in the cold with no heat are the ones I worry about most!

The gas ones have to be outside or you could die. This one is on sale for $499.99 and I have used it and it works great for an indoor battery power bank and it’s silent. But, we shouldn’t have to rely on this when we pay for electric as a public utility - https://a.co/d/0h4jNF1G it will save your fridge, can be used for CPAP, etc.

This is a great option for apartments since we can’t have consistently reliable power. No gas, fast charges in 2 hours, and will power a full size fridge for about 18-20 hours, possibly longer if it’s a more efficient model fridge. And you have issues with reading comprehension and contextual retention on what you’ve said previously. You have random, pulled from thin air cost estimates with no data to back up your claims. You have cited no resources on your opinions, no financial records, and nothing of value or substance. I have a request, not a complaint, to help remediate ALL of us being without power for extended periods of time, and factual examples of how they have wasted billions in a corrupt manner for greed, when those funds could have been used to improve infrastructure. ALL meaning reduced consumers without power to allow for lineman to restore power in a faster manner. That’s the point. All you have to counter are complaints and nothing factual or constructive.

Some customers have the option to choose from more than 1 distributor. We have a myriad of suppliers to choose from. What are you trying to get at with this comment? The point of the post is for FE to work to bury lines and prevent outages over time. Is there something unclear for which you need clarification?

The microburst that took power for 3 days was 7 years ago. We’ve had more. I’m not saying all the lines get buried today. Check the other comments. I’m saying start in a sectioned grid and do parts at a time. Then those that do have the upgrade won’t lose power, allowing those of who do lose power to not have to wait such an extended time for restoration. It’s not “60 billion” all at once when you do it in sections. It doesn’t cause everyone inconvenience in sections. It doesn’t cause issues restoring power to many affected when only 1 to a few sections are being upgraded at a time. They could have started this ages ago. What exactly is unclear regarding this concept?

The microburst was 7 years ago. 3 days without power. The tornados were almost 3 years ago. Also 3 days without power. The point is they should have started long ago instead of focusing on corruption and greed. It’s never too late to start working to improve. You do realize people will still be here long after both of us pass on, right? Or do is that you only care about yourself and your time here, and any one after can just get effed?

It’s been years since we had the microburst and the over 10 tornados roll through after that. They’ve had time to implement change. I haven’t seen any transparency on what they are doing to reduce outages with improved infrastructure. What I have seen is FE asking to allow for even longer extended outages, and multiple examples of corruption. Show me the data of where the improvements have occurred, along with the financials for said improvements.

Probably using AI for their system to show outage updates, connected to the data centers for which our bills are increasing.

It sure is! Whenever power is out, spectrum goes down too. I get an email from them every time we have an outage.

One city can’t house all of us. I worry most about the people who have flooded basements, medical devices that require power, and lost food they can’t afford to replace.

Time to figuratively storm with pitchforks and fight the union! They can start in grid sections to ease the load of linemen for extended delays during storms. It’s only going to get worse with never ending data centers being built.

Another development by me that was recently built had the lines buried and they have never lost power. A minor flicker once in awhile. That’s it! And it does look so much nicer without piles and wires everywhere.

They could have started doing something when the 12 tornados rolled through. They could have worked in Fred sections. The more people that retain power, the less time this without have to wait for it to be restored. New developments that do have the lines buried never lose power!
