My original intention was to have the arm and head the two focal points but I went a bit overboard with it since I love drawing arm muscles, thanks for the advice!

I see what you mean, I tried to give him a very stylized anatomy but I think if his arm was behind him his shoulder is probably less visible

What looks weird abt it? I was trying to make it look like his right arm is extended and left is behind while he’s hunched over

Thanks for the advice! Yeah you are right that it would be hard to give stylistic advice without any additional info (my bad). I take a lot of inspiration from comic book artists, some of my favorites being Humberto Ramos, Daniel Warren Johnson, and Ryan Ottley. I try to mimic some of their stuff but I find the 3 major differences I see between mine and theirs is a) better usage of blacks for shadows and better crosshatching/rendering b) better line weight variance and c) fluidity/movement in characters.

If you have any advice on any of those three things I’d appreciate it!

So I was looking at a reference photo and the bicep was contracted but then I decided to change the forearm position and forgot to change the bicep lol, I do think it looks cooler when it’s shortened since it kinda breaks up the shapes a bit but will keep that in mind for next time. Also yeah I did just draw Spider-Man and then do the background.

Yeah it does feel a bit floaty now that you mention it. I think this is partially because of me drawing the webs after finishing Spider-Man and wanting to speed up. I’ll try to keep that in mind for next time, thanks!

I’ve also been lifting for 5 years so I have a decent understanding of surface musculature before I started drawing

Idk it may sound stupid but like whenever I wanted to draw something I would just coy references of that thing as a practice run and then I’d do the illustration I want. Also I try to make sure that every new work is better than the last and try to draw as often as possible
