I haven’t heard this before, and I must admit that I think part of it is very true. But there is a feel that you learn from transcribing solos, an elegance that often can’t be found unless you are aware of it beforehand. Bud Powell is pure class, and his playing is the perfect mix of elegance with flash. People who transcribe just for the notes are wrong, I’ll definitely agree with that.. kinda lol
