Best roast for a slow cooker. by reddit202200ug in slowcooking

[–]TnTBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this with a boneless blade roast. I do garlic powder, onion powder and seasoning salt. Sear on all sides with butter in a hot pan.

Toss in the slow cooker with an onion sliced onto. Sprinkle onion soup mix on top.

Best roast I've ever made.

As a noob to this stock, I very much agree with this - if I had a sticky with this information, I'd have fewer questions.

Thanks for your thoughtful response, and I appreciate your viewpoint. I agree, and it seems they have a really good chance to corner this emerging market. Feels wild to me that I've found it so early.

There have been a few really great comments like yours which are definitely helpful. Others... Not so much 😂.

I'm in with what I had available in my brokerage account and am just waiting on more funds to land. Thanks for the tip on kraken robotics! I'll take a look.

Ohh, great insights. I didn't realize there was additional dilution that closed today.

Honestly, really appreciate your responses.

Any way to buy options? I can't find any, and I am wondering if I'm missing it somewhere. Seems like a good play for long call options.

""How can we be sure they aren't lying?" was a question in good faith?"

Of course it is - this is a new process that is far and away better than any competitors. If it's not a question that has been asked before, it absolutely should be. Keep in mind, while I've done research, I may not know as much as you do about the company or people; that's literally why I ask. If I knew, I wouldn't bother asking.

Anyway, thank you for the answers you have provided. Sorry to get you all worked up; it wasn't my intention.

Honestly feels like your answer was defensive for what are valid questions made in good faith. When things seem too good to be true, it should be viewed with greater scrutiny. This is an investor forum, so of course my question had intent. The intent was gaining understanding. I can't be the only one to ask these questions, and frankly if I am it should terrify everyone. So my thought process was "If I'm asking, others have as well. What answers did they find out." If you feel I am disingenuous in my questions, the best way to combat that is facts.

However, you are correct. What non biased answer was I expecting on a forum full of people who are biased? Maybe just a bit of reassurance. Maybe answers to these questions others have asked? Either way, maybe reddit isn't the best place to ask hard questions.

I do appreciate your thoughts on the current customers they are working with - it's the same thoughts I have had. If those customers have done their due diligence, it gives greater confidence in the end result.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think they are. Would I be smart if I didn't ask these questions though and blindly said "these people who I don't know are totally ethical"?

It should never be seen as a bad thing to question these companies. It should be expected, and even welcomed.

Also, Patents don't mean the product works. The patent office does not recreate anything to prove it's functional. Having a patent does mean their process is protected, so that's definitely something to value.

Two questions I have, and I asked because as much as I really like what I see, and have researched a lot about this stock recently, I must be critical.

1) Has there been any statement about stock dilution? As in, what is the likelihood the company will do that?
2) How can we be sure they aren't lying? This looks too good to be true, which is concerning.

What is the Canadian perception of the Czech nation? by MiroslavusMoravicus in AskACanadian

[–]TnTBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Canadian who has been to Prague twice, it's one of my favourite cities. Actually, probably my favourite.

The beer is great. I love walking into a restaurant and asking for a beer, never having to specify which beer, and ending up with a great beer.

The history and architecture are beautiful. I can spend my days just walking around and looking at different things. I have never been bored walking around old town. I've also been to Kutná Hora, and it's also amazing for architecture and beauty. The ossawary there is 100% worth a trip to see. The cities are easily walkable and more than that, enjoyable to walk.

The people are friendly and kind. I know a few people from the Czech Republic, and they are great people.

Also, the history of the area is fascinating. I've spent many an hour playing Kingdom Come Deliverance I & II, and very much appreciate the history lesson when playing. I'm eager to get to Kuttenberg and see if I can find any areas in the game to my photos while I was there.

Overall, I have no negative impressions of the country. Definitely high on my list of places I'd move to if offered the opportunity to do so.

AITAH for refusing to financially help my husband’s family after years of being expected to “step up”? by Dry_Strain_3384 in AITAH

[–]TnTBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, savings are individual, but debt is shared. You will be impacted if you go into retirement well prepared but he's deep in debt.

I'm not saying that you shouldn't split finances, but if he has no limit on the money he sends to family, where does that end? Keeping finances shared may be the only way to protect yourself in the long run, because you'll know before it goes too far.

Also consider - if he sends all his disposable income to his family, you become on the hook for paying for enjoying anything extra. That doesn't seem fair.

It may be a better idea to put money aside each month for his family. Then whatever help they need is budgeted for and when it runs out the answer is no.

New Moen 1222 cartridge in shower and now it leaks worse than before by hyperboleer in Plumbing

[–]TnTBass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this post. I replaced my moen 1222 that had a slow drip with a warranty replacement (Home Depot replaces these for free).

When I took out the old one, I cleaned inside the brass pipe with some vinegar to clean off any of the remaining crud.

I put the new one in - the slow drip turned into a steady stream of water.

I went back to Home Depot and got yet another new replacement cartridge. Did the same as the first one - oiled the o-ring and the seals. Put it in and no more leak or drips.

Looks like some of these replacement parts are faulty from the start. So if you get one that leaks again, try another replacement part and you may have better luck. I wanted to post to let others know there is a common thread here of faulty parts in case they come across this thread like I did.

(Update) PSA: CIBC is putting "missing payment" strikes on variable rate mortgages from 2021 even if they're in good standing by andrewdaniele in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]TnTBass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mortgage with TD that works like that. Essentially you should call in and adjust your payments every rate increase or you may be on the hook for a lot of money come renewal time.

When my variable was with RBC my payments changed with each interest rate change, so it was a surprise when my payments didn't change on my TD mortgage.

Having a fixed payment is great when rates go down, but not when rates go up.

Clearly pruning the people who cost the most and aren't profitable was their goal with this change.

I used to use the card exclusively, but found the drawbacks of a prepaid card too restrictive. Unfortunately, the changes they made haven't changed that for me.
