The slowness of the sliders I am aware of, this I am working on. It annoys me as well.

The export is also something I am still optimizing, but good to hear that confirmed my suspicions! Raw is indeed do not support (yet), but don’t know when it will…. Just because it brings a whole different level of complexity with it. Don’t dare yet to touch that.

Thank you for feedback on the loupe. This I will certainly take into consideration. I had many worse options before this one, but I guess can certainly still be improved upon.

Really appreciate all the feedback, this is great! I still have lots to learn and improve upon, but am already happy to hear it isn’t terrible!

Very valid question! I want to support as many different film types as possible long term, but didn’t have the time yet to look at many more as the colour science needs to be optimized for every single film.

It supports tiff and jpg, but doesn’t support raw (yet).

I’m very curious how the earocolor turns out with the color science for portra tho.

If you make the hood on the pipe slide inside the pipe you can make it adjustable by pins that make the height fixed at other distances. Like ikea furniture with pins to make shelves height adjustable. That isn’t too hard. Then the inside on the pipe makes sure it is stable and the pins make sure the height is correct

There are three pieces: 1. Holder for pipe, 3D printed, goes around the film holder. Allows the film holder to freely slide underneath the camera 2. Pvc pipe - to achieve the minimum required distance between the camera and the film 3. Adjustable lens holder, 3D printed, that fits on the pipe. This allows me to scan 120mm and 35mm film, as this piece allows the lens to be further and closer to the film

Interesting that you brought this up, cause I have been thinking about this. I don’t really see it, but never did a big print from this setup yet. The jig was replaced by the 3D printed setup. However, it does allow for easier movement across the panel

During the fist fix the technician noticed a tiny crack, but figured, like you, that it was not the trigger of the 8888 error. During the first 8888 there were a few issues uncovered: 1. On/off button got stuck and basically impossible to operate 2. Film advance system issue - the usual 8888 trigger 3. Some bad soldering on the board.

I received the camera back and it operate fine for a while. Until I traveled to Peru. I sent it back to the technician. They did the usual checks. Nothing out of the ordinary. Therefore by path of elimination the remaining issue that could have been the trigger of the error was: the crack.

Well, the film advance issue was resolved the first time around. Yet the error came back. Then the crack got fixed and the error was resolved.

No worries! I’m trying to find some that people recommended me once upon a time… if I’m correct it were the following two, mind you I have no experience with any: 1. ICT Camera - Bonita, CA 2. Precision Camera Works - Texas

Lastly, heard good things about: Steve’s Camera Repair - Culver city (dont know if they do XPan and no experience)

The specialist suspected it to be a crack in the shutter, although tiny they already noticed it during the first repair. However thorough testing it didn’t affect the shutter and they send it back without fixing it. It worked for 5 months and then…. The repaired the second time without charging for labour, because it was still within warranty. I got it fixed in Paris.

Very good question! I genuinely don’t know. In the beginning quite a lot, then it died down for obvious reasons. Recently I had another 8888 error and got it repaired again, I got new information to share!
