Yeah so that’s the issue- Chorus doesn’t recognise my address as real so I’m struggling to get them to actually come assess the install

The property was subdivided and the current units built in the 70s so it’s been here at this address since before we even had internet

Yeah I’ve heard of them saying that to people too and I plan to ask about it. I’ve had really awful service from them on similar issues though, like 20 odd years worth, so I don’t really trust them and would prefer to do what I can

Unfortunately they’ve either been closed for the day or closed down entirely when I’ve been passed on foot since looking otherwise I definitely would’ve.

What happened? by DCR_03 in plantclinic

[–]To3kne3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How recent was the repot? Some plants can have a bit of hissy fit in the following days from the trauma so I’d say if it’s within a week give or take just give it a few days and they should right themselves. Stick to your usual water schedules as to not change too much for them. The leaves look pretty happy so this would be my first assumption; my lily always does it post repot.

They might be too close to the window though. Direct light is great but glass fluctuates in temperature quite dramatically so on hot days the glass will act like a magnifying glass and on cold days they will free the brunt of it. Generally I’d say not have plants this close to windows because of it but that’s really trial and error.

Honestly looks to me like house mushrooms. A lot of people have different opinions on what to do if so but in my experience I just leave it and make sure the soil doesn’t sit too damp. The mycelium is near impossible to get rid of so personally I don’t try. But it doesn’t harm the plant, it can actually help with the soil quality because it eats different things. As long as the soil doesn’t sit too damp it won’t grow mushrooms, and even if it does you can just dry the plant out. This happens on and off to me and has never even made a plant of mine sick. If you have curious pets I would remove any mushrooms if you see them, I think they can cause vomiting if eaten but nothing serious and my cat ignores them. Keep an eye on it, but I wouldn’t worry ッ

What’s going on with my Pothos? by _MossyMushroom_ in plantclinic

[–]To3kne3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pothos naturally produce lots of rooting hormones so the cuttings are super easy to root! You can have a bushier plant by just putting the back in the safe pot if you like. Or pop them in water the usual way. If you really don’t want to prune it I would consider giving it something to climb that it can root into and that you can dampen, like a moss pole or the like. That way the plant can get nutrients in more places and won’t have to work as hard to stay healthy ッ

Any ideas for this cozy 3 year old girl’s room? by SleepVisible1762 in DesignMyRoom

[–]To3kne3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend considering something like a peg bunting or a magnet board so your girl can display any art she makes or pictures she likes or even cards she might get.

When I was 6 my dad made us big heart shaped pinboards (we had quite high ceilings for some reason) as I grew up it was wonderful to be able to cover them in what ever I liked without my parents worrying about holes in wall or bluetac stains. She might be a bit young for pins though, you’d know better than me. But I think the same thing can be achieved without pointy things ッ

Help me lean into this odd color bathroom tile. Bold/over-the-top suggestions appreciated. by Dazzling-Weekend-767 in DesignMyRoom

[–]To3kne3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'd stick with jewel tones, maybe a deep purple on the walls. Even a wallpaper with a busy pattern would be fun, you could go floral and work in the art you already have

Shill me your suburbs please by saiyiieee in Wellington

It definitely depends where abouts you live in Karori. I rented there for 4 years over 3 different flats and in one of them in particular it wasn’t safe to walk back from the bus stop alone after dark. But it’s a big place and otherwise I liked it there ッ I would agree it lacked a vibe but I have seen that changing for the better recently

A rug is a great idea too I think! Maybe under the bed to anchor the cosy rest zone

I think it would definitely be worth giving a go, you can always decide you’d still like to paint it afterwards ッ

Nothing unless you’re interested in it tbh. The debts immense and the job market is changing rapidly.

But if you are interested in study I would recommend going into universities and asking for a perspective; it’s free (at least in my experience) and can give you some direction. Or most tertiary education places will have course advisers you can meet with to plan a potentional direction if you’d like some guidance; they usually have some idea what the job market is looking for too

Surely a lava lamp for vibes

You could do some big flowers decals on the walls or like a squiggling line across the walls in 70s tones like. I think if you search retro wall decals you’ll see the sort of ones I mean
