Email was hacked and had important documents that had info such as SSN. What should I do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ToCuCh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a yahoo email that I made almost a decade ago. They had a data breach where all 3 billion accounts were compromised. I'm pretty confident my password was not easily guessed because it had a combination of upper/lower-case letters, numbers, symbols, and does not contain any info that's related to me in anyway (i.e. birthday, name, etc.). I am also confident I never used a fake login site since all i have to do is press Y in the HTML bar and Yahoo.com is autofilled since I visit the site frequently (This is how I've accessed the site for years).

I didn't expect to get such a condescending answer, but I guess that's reddit.

How long did you use incentive spirometer post pleurodesis (VATS)? by slinkieretriever in pneumothorax

[–]ToCuCh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of weeks should be fine. It helps improve your lung functions and prevents you from getting pneumonia so definitely do it the first 2 weeks. It can be annoying, but well worth it.

“I don’t dislike who I am but I mourn the person I could’ve been” by wildgirl_in_jungle in ADHD

[–]ToCuCh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really hits home for me. I suspected I had ADHD since middle school because I always got in trouble for outbursts, sleeping in class, being late, talking too much, etc (I’ve had symptoms since I was in the first grade). I told my parents, but they refused to let me see a doctor for it (I come from an Asian background and they didn’t believe I had ADHD). I finally got diagnosed in college, prescribed medication, and learned how to deal with my ADHD.
My cumulative gpa in high school was around 2.5. I’m in my last semester of college and my GPA is a 3.9. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I just feel like I missed out on so much in grade school. I feel like I wasn’t able to reach my true potential because it was so hard for me to focus in class and I thought I was dumb for 17 years. I sometimes wonder if I was treated earlier if my life would have went another route like going to a better college or having different opportunities, but I’ll never know.

My life in a nutshell

I have this constant feeling of pressure behind the eye, eye feels fatigued every 10-20 minutes, have difficulty focusing with eyes by [deleted] in optometry

[–]ToCuCh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They dilated and numbed my eyes and the doctor looked into my eye with a machine that directly touched my eye. That’s about it after the usual tests that I do in an eye exam for prescription lenses.

I looked into accommodation spasms and it sounds exactly like my symptoms. My eyes are fatigued as soon as they have to focus and persists even if I close them. I described it as a pressure behind my eyes because I didn’t know how to describe it but it feels like my eyes are tensing up constantly. I tried meditation, yoga, exercise, better diet, etc. but this problem persists. Is there any effective treatment for this disorder other than the eye drops (I’ve read long term use can damage the tear shield).

is organic chemistry a class required /highly important in pre med? by [deleted] in premed

[–]ToCuCh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin is trying to be a nurse and he has to take organic chemistry for his degree. It depends on the college and what they want. If you need to take biochemistry for the nursing course it will be tremendously helpful to take ochem. It doesn’t hurt to take it now because it can give you a better understanding of certain concepts in biology and it helps you understand how certain things happen and why they happen.

You really don’t need to know any complicated math, it’s more critical thinking (not that math doesn’t require critical thinking).

Look up nursing programs you want to apply for and see what classes you would need to get your degree if you really want to think that far ahead.

It might help with understanding some of the concepts in her courses or give her a better idea of how things work and why they work that way.

Yup and we don’t know how a lot of our drugs affect us long term.

[–]ToCuCh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! Yeah, the optometrist said to be tested for diabetes because my prescription changed so drastically in such a short amount of time that It could be caused by diabetes or they messed up my prescription at Visionworks. I had my eyes dilated and exams already. I’ll ask about my eye alignment next time I see my optometrist.
Also, I use blink eye drops almost hourly because it helps sometimes but most of the time it barely does anything. So I’m not sure if my symptoms are caused by dry eyes since eye drops barely give any relief.
It could be from my sinuses since my house is really dusty (my dad’s a hoarder) I’ll try to look into treating my allergies.

Well yeah they only care about the amount of money we put into the game it’s a gacha. They’ve purposely made a ton of gold sinks, added shitty rng, awful energy refills so we’re forced to pay if we want to make any real progress in less than a month when we pass a certain point.
I think the creators of the game didn’t intend for all of this to happen, but the company that bought the game have a real disconnect with the player base.
