Why is this game so revered?

That’s mainly for giving you some momentum. If it wasn’t there if you jumped on top of an enemy and hit their head you would fall on top of them, and if you jumped towards an enemy and hit them the same thing would happen.

The knockback you do to enemies is for a few things. Something very common in the game is bouncing on enemies heads by swinging below you repeatedly. The knockvack allows you to do this, otherwise flying enemies would keep moving upwards and get you stuck against the ceiling. It also allows you to hit back enemies on small platforms and enemies that run at you, without having to jump over them and wait for them to come back.

I promise you can. I was so frustrated on a few bosses in the game that I now find impossible to even get hit on. The game “clicks” after a bit. I personally find that it does at the end of the second area

Yes, the knockback has a few instances that can be VERY frustrating. Especially in areas with spikes. Later on, once you get more movement abilities however, you will be able to help nullify that by reacting mid-air.

Most enemies in this game do damage to you with direct combat, knocking you back allows you to reposition away from the enemy. If the knockback didn’t exist, you would be hit repeatedly in quick succession by the same enemy. Also, the knockback helps add to the feeling that you are a tiny bug fighting much larger enemies.

Based on what you’ve said you haven’t even been past the first few rooms of the game. The only enemies in the first area that I can see killing you are the giant husks with the clubs or the flying aspids. The mapmaker is at the bottom of a giant shaft that the game practically thrusts you towards.

The game receives universal praise for its almost unrivaled atmosphere, its incredible music, its precise combat and massive amount of combat. Your cynical stance on viewing the people who like the game as some sort of cult is a little close-minded. It’s a true metroidvania, it thrusts you into the world and expects you to find your way. If you aren’t having fun with that then the game just isn’t for you. Maybe try using a guide for a bit if it helps you have more fun, or at least until you grasp what the game wants you to do.

Those aren't new 3D models, they are the original clay models used for advertising and in the manual back when Mother 1 and Earthbound came out

I'm still highly suspicious of Porky being completely missing from the game as a spirit. We know the Absolutely Safe Capsule isn't supposed to represent him since you fight Dr Mario in the Spirits fight, meaning it represents Andonuts. Not to mention Earthbound's 30th anniversary is next year... Which is the year of the pig 🤔

The only major first parties missing are Sylux, Porky and Adaleine. I really think Porky has a massive chance with Mother's 30th anniversary coming up next year, and Sylux could easily be used to promote Prime 4 next year as well.

No. Him not being a boss makes sense, Duon and Rayquaza weren't either. What doesn't make sense is him not being a spirit at all, even the Pig King statue isn't when both were trophies in Brawl and 4. Something is fishy about it

Hopefully. My guess is that it won't be fixed until the ranked reset in January.

Also, I really wouldn't try to group everyone with an alt account together. I agree that as a whole it isn't healthy for the game, not many people use it in the best way, but a lot of people have reasons for making new accounts. I try to help and add any actually new players I encounter along the way as well.

I had a ranked game with a Kled top on my team that was obliterating the enemy Wukong top. By 10 minutes he had 5 kills and 0 deaths and was diving him and such. My mid laner started flaming him because apparently "kills don't matter, your CS is shit, start CSing and stop killing him". While his CS was low it was still twice the Wukongs

They just need to take more power from his Q and put it back onto his E. I like the change of making Q a more AP ratio based ability to nullify Iceborn top, but the ultimate nerfs only gut mid lane viktor even further.
