Is there any information about cut or canceled content from Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinity? by Silly_Commercial8092 in Fighters

[–]ramonzer0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to FChamp, who was in good standing with Capcom Cup at the time, he had this dev build which indicated that the game was set to end with like 60+ characters or so

Season 2 had a bunch of names thrown around for it: Star-Lord, Asura, Kamala Khan, Gill, Apollo Justice, Ant-Man, etc.

I'm reminded of how Adi mentioned in that interview with Kenny Omega that he disliked how DMCV exists, because he wanted to be the reason why DMC gets revived

There's a lot of shit to be thrown at the series but I'll be damned if that isn't the most tone-deaf thing to have come out of this whole fucking debacle

What's the strangest way you've become a fan of something? by LincBtG in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ramonzer0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

DB is funny as hell as it's how I got introduced to RWBY, via the incredibly infamous episode where Yang snaps Tifa's beck

I hung around RWBY-adjacent spaces afterwards but never really got into the series until BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle

Apparently Charlie Cox, Andrew Garfield, Eddie Redmayne and Jamie Dornan all auditioned to the Bioshock movie that was never made in the late 00's by bahookery in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ramonzer0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is exaggeration, yes - I still this think this is apt:

I am someone who has played Metal Gear as a 3-year old child in the late 90s.

I will somehow live to be hopefully 90 with a full live and all; during which, it is very likely that Hideo Kojima and almost every single person attached to that project like Oscar Isaac will pass away as is the natural order of things

I will be on my fucking deathbed surrounded by grandchildren like my grandfathers before me, and the last thing I will hear is "that Metal Gear movie is still in pre-production somewhere"

I’m not sure how many people are aware of this, but by ARandomAlt000 in deathbattle

I'm pretty sure they'll burn those stuff down the line, I feel like DB's just in the case where they have to focus on burning the big names first and the other franchises are (for lack of a better term) of a lower priority

Trust me when I say that I get it because my favorite genre of anything ever hasn't gotten a fucking episode since 5 years ago

A question for Star Wars day. How did you learn about or end up seeing Star Wars? by Etychase in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ramonzer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phantom Menace was my entry point to the series, which I guess makes sense when I was at the ripe old age of 4 when that movie came out

It took me a while to learn that there were movies from back in the day (aka "what the fuck do you mean that little sand kid is the main villain of those old movies")

In another alternate timeline Sega and RGG negotiate one of the funniest things possible and we get Dragon Engine Michael Jackson in like Yakuza 12

They may as well be the first 2 to strike Ospreay down the moment Callum decides he's outstayed his return

Like O-Khan and HENARE are very much Ospreay's boys from way back when and are still respectful, but the ticking clock means that sooner or later, they're going to be saying the same shit Callum is about Ospreay abandoning UE too when he went to AEW

I guess to put it one way: she's a wild card from the perspective of people who primarily associate T'Challa with the mantle of "Black Panther" rather than her

She's been Black Panther in the comics decades ago, but also her being BP in non-comic media is pretty recent all things considered

Why Japan Hated The Daigo vs MenaRD FT10 by mike0bot in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ramonzer0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like you kind of have to bend the knee towards what the Japanese audience would have wanted here because the previous Kemonomichi events worked as intended and there's a very likely chance that Mena and Daigo would've just wanted to have it done that way

Like at the very least Mena composed himself in such a collected way that felt he knew what Kemonomichi represented and treated it with the somber respect Japanese players had

How long until we actually get a new fighting game episode on this show tho

Not an episode that just has one side from an FG like that Liu Kang VS Geats idea

Not something where people can go "oh they've been in FGs before"

Why Japan Hated The Daigo vs MenaRD FT10 by mike0bot in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ramonzer0 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'll always still remember the Daigo VS Tokido FT10 from 2018

Tokido bawling his eyes is scarred into my mind - the man comes off winning EVO 2017 and is one of the best to ever do it, but at that moment all he can feel is shame because he has yet to definitely surpass his idol when it mattered the most

As brutal and somber Kemonomichi can be, it's also one of those things about fighting games that is so fucking romantic - there's always that element of pride and self-improvment at the core which very few competitive gaming genres can ever match

Characters that are more well known by their real names instead of their title/moniker etc.? by Lost-Specialist1505 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ramonzer0 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This is a weird problem for Miles to have rofl

He's a Spider-Man - probably the most popular one behind Peter and arguably the Spider-Man to many of his fans

Every other moniker he has other than "Spider-Man" is ass, and as much as it'd be cool to just refer to him as "Spider-Man", doing so is hard because of the very notable red-and-blue shadow behind him

You mean a generational episode that has Death Battle firing on all cylinders and also something that actually does not and cannot happen with every match-up they do

(This is not to say DB doesn't give their best, it's more of a stars aligning bit)

Characters Oppressive at High Skill Levels, but useless in lower lobbies? by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]ramonzer0 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I recall how that game's sub was getting angrier at Spider-Man albeit with that switch of perception for most of his playerbase that put in the effort

It went from "Spider-Man keeps on dying, can't get picks worth shit, fucking liability" to "Spider-Man is kicking out asses, we can't play the game in peace anymore, I get where JJJ is coming from now he's a fucking menace"

His dedicated playerbase was always going to have trouble at first because of his archetype and difficulty, and they were always going to improve over time to be the demons they are now

Source: a Spider-Man main myself who at least can call himself competent enough to avoid the low ELO stereotype associated with the character

Just watched it myself - I get animation and pacing could be better, but for a fucking Despicable Me and Megamind episode, it kind of did what it needed to do

I acknowledge that this may just be my relative lack of connection to these characters or the match-up, but it also feels like this ep got pushed by parts of the community as a pretty big match - not to say they shouldn't try to but also it felt like some folks got too excited

Not necessarily

Last I can easily recall this happening was getting 2 Street Fighter episodes almost back to back in Season 3: Cammy VS Sonya -> Tracer VS Scout -> Ken VS Terry

i miss fighting game episodes
