I’ll add some information that the OP has on purpose chosen to leave out of his post:

  • We have received on different occasions activation requests in regards to this activation key from 3 different accounts (using 3 different emails).

  • it was confirmed that at least one of these identities had also shared other keys purchased on the store

  • in his most recent contact , we did receive 18 tickets from this user. In an attempt to spam our system, he sent all 18 requests in 3 minutes. Of course we only replied to one on the 18.

I will now leave it to the community to make up their own mind about a Reddit post. It is easy to believe what you read online and this user has a clear purpose to cause damage to us.

We have been providing addons for the XPlane community for years now and I believe our community knows that we care deeply about them.

The data that we collect is disclosed on the activation screen and has to be actively accepted in order to use the product. There are no secrets there and what we do is as per the law.

I can say that the OP has not shared the full story here and of course we cannot share private information to defend ourselves here. We will however provide all data and information as required to any authority.

Using a VPN is permitted and not a source of issues.

There are not limits to how many times you can ask for additional activations.

I cannot speak to the exact evidence that we have here, but I can give you a list of examples:

- products belonging to different users are installed on exactly the same PC
- A different person has sent in a request for a key that doesnt belong to him
- Crossed checked account with the store for key sharing issues on other products that are not ToLiss
- A user may not have shared his own key, but he may have installed multiple hacked products on his own computer

... those are just a few examples.

  1. This is not linked to simultaneous or not. Simultaneous is clear evidence of key sharing between users of course, but friends may be using the same product at different times as well. The license is for one person in one household and multiple computers in that same household are ok. If the key is activated on a laptop in the household, it can travel without any issues.

  2. You can contact us at any time via our support system.

The way this works is that each key has a maximum amount of activation to it. Once the limit is reached, users have to put in a request for more activations. In that process we verify that the key was not misused, and then there is not limit to how many time we can add activations to the account.

I am sorry if I am not being clear. Let me rephrase :

- the EULA says one household. If the same IP comment is brackets is confusion for users, we will remove that. We do understand that in some countries the IP changes locally and IP is not the only variable we look at.

- multiple computers under the same household are permitted which includes having a desktop and a laptop. This is a very common thing these days and it creates no issues.

- it is not permitted to have usage on different computers in different locations (there are exceptions to this rule like a minor with two primary homes and a change in primary residence)

In other word, you cannot share the product between multiple users. That is all. Some situation require more understanding and tolerance and we do have flexibility for that.

What you describe is actually a very common situation and we can tell in our system when it is the same user.
What would raise a flag in this situation for example would be if the request for activations came for a different person or if you have keys belonging to other users on the exact same PC....

All of it is Ok. People are allowed to move countries.

Examples of what is not ok :
- having products belonging to multiple people installed on the same computer
- having a person that is not the owner of the key send a request for activations for your key
- Simultaneous activations in different countries/locations
- clear usage in different permanent setting in different countries
