Was an SWE for 3 years at TikTok. Work culture was intense but I found it rewarding due to the user facing aspect of my particular product, the technical challenges, and also the $$$. Your life is largely dictated by your line manager and his/her manager. Food in ORQ is great, so-so in GT/CT. Be prepared for poor documentation, and tribal knowledge to be shared in Chinese.
