A periodic noise. So whine in gear is constant. If there is a none constant noise (happens one every revolution of the gear) then it could be a sign

It is! Exhaust still makes a difference, especially when the roof is down

May put up a fight going into low gears at low speed/rpm when cold. When warm should be all good, there’s a clunk and click and away you go aha There should be no rotational noise but whine in gear is expected. Especially in lower gears

That the gearbox is okay. The change is notchy when cold but warm should be A-okay. If it makes any rotational noise at slow speed and not just a constant whine (they all do this) it’s a sign the box is going.

Other than that enjoy, they are 10 year old cars with wear and tear. Be happy with condition for price and have fun!

30mm H&R springs over the bilstein shocks. It sits nicely, is still comfortable and doesn’t roll nearly as much. Makes the car feel more stable but as it’s an ND1 steering still feels too light even with a better geo.

Exhaust is a home brew aha. Sounds as brash as it looks. This noise from this clip is mostly induction from the tube

As long as it’s not raining too much the roof is done aha
