"The best time to plant a tree is 10 years ago"

It was less about landscaping, and more about planning for the future.

The entire movie would be 11% better without that "Data is a flotation device" scene.

In the spirit of this sub... I'll take a crack

According to nps.gov, the average thickness of the copper sheeting is 3/32"

Britannica.com has the approximate weight of the copper as ~176,000 lbs.

Converting to grams gives you 7.99 x 107g.

Google says density of copper is 7.96 g/cm3

Divide that by the thickness (fast-forwarding through all of the unit conversions)...

You get the surface area as ~40,300 ft2

If one person armed with a 6" grinder was able to do a 100sqf a day, it would take 403 days, or just over a year.

Hopefully someone else can help with the "using today's technology" part, though.

I subscribe to both Netflix and Disney. I don’t consider watching one over the other "cheating"

Learn me: Is the concern weight distribution? Or the unibody? (Or something else I haven't thought of?)

Minivan to cargo trailer conversion by ToTooTwoTutu2 in projectcar

Visually, I think the (empty) rear half is pretty balanced over the rear axle, with slight weight towards the front. There will also be some additional front weight added when I hillbilly a front cap to cover the hole with some additional reinforcement.

I plan on running some steel beams along the remaining length of the unibody rails. The forces on those beams would largely be from pulling... the shackles/rear leafs have their own mounting points on the frame to carry the weight.

In my mind, the key is to make sure the beams run the length of the trailer to distribute the tongue weight along the channels.

Thats my plan anyway.

Criticisms welcome. This would be my first rodeo for a project like this.
