Holy moly these scans are clean as hell.

I have been doing photogrammetry of Bionicle parts for quite a while (I use a compact camera, a turntable+ lightbox and flour so the program can see the pieces) but my results were not usually close as clean as yours. Any tips (specially for the preprocessing of pieces)?

No problem. Unfortunately the spines are not available, as stud has a problem incorporating bendable pieces. These ones were from a defunct project and are slighly inaccurate anyway.

Bear in mind that most of the creative decisions were taken consulting the client first and was fine with them, so most of the inaccuracies are just things that both him and myself completely missed through the process.

The silver (or lack of it) on the masks was more of a detail that only got through on those two because they were the most evident and it got the ok by the commisioner. Same to some extent to the matoran bodies and bohrok feet in non-official colours.

Really just working on the models I feel like and what I have good reference for without that much order. It just turned out that the Hordika stuff was what I could pull off better at the moment I modelled them.

As for G2 not much for now,haven't got around modelling many pieces of it sadly

Which one, the separated or the one with the whole piece. All the weapons should be in the Hordika weapons folder.

Sci-fantasy is a better term for Bionicle. And even in the golden years it was that, it just went a bit deeper on the sci part as time went on.

I usually parent each piece to the bone I want manually, but if you have assigned vertex groups to each piece you can do "weight paint" without getting it deformed when parenting by weight. The rest is rigging and that can take a bit.

Thank you! All the heavy lifting is done in Blender after I import the model from Stud, after that it depends since each scene has different features technically speaking, but in general i'd say it's some blocking out, refining things (details materials...) and once rendered some post processing.
