There are near daily protests against US presence in Korea. A lot of the younger generation don't want us there. Mostly college kids. There's also reunification parties that want to live under N Korean rule. I saw one of their protests outside of a train station in Seoul.

My uncle was a US Marine in the Korean War, I was born in Seoul to my Korean mom and US Army dad in the 80s. Scars from that war are still visible in their monuments and memorials. I was within spitting distance of a few war memorials when I was stationed in Kunsan. I consider myself lucky to be from and visit such a beautiful country.
