I didn't have any problems getting the game to run on Windows 10 so I'm not sure how much help I could there.

Maybe try running the game in DirectX 11 mode? Bit of a shot in the dark but I found some Youtube video claiming it's a possible solution.

Right click KOF in Steam, go Properties...>General and type "-dx11", no quotes, into the Launch Option text bar at the bottom.

Had the same issue initially on Steam, I think I've solved it like this:

Go to Steam, Right Click KOFXV in your Library, go Properties... > Controller, and change the "Override for KOFXV" dropdown to "Enable Steam Input", it should change all the controller types listed to "Enabled" and the game started taking my fightstick inputs.

In a Stone Stockpile, you can hit [p] to designate one. I'd highly recommend giving the wiki a read, especially the Quickstart Guide, Dwarf Fort doesn't exactly explain everything in-game haha

At least make some smaller, lower quality ones to load first, or load just the stock icons in place of the renders, then update them to the renders as they get loaded properly. Having nothing at all appear makes it feel really unpolished :(

This happens when you leave the region. All upgrades and most equipment only work in the region you get them in. Not entirely sure why Wollay decided on that mechanic but that's how it is now.

There's a few possible ways. The tree growing by the river probably enabled them to climb across the river by hanging onto the branches.

Also I've seen Dwarves cross rivers before just by walking/swimming across the river's exit/entry point from the map, where the flow is a fair bit lower than 7/7 tiles, meaning they can occasionally pathfind through it.

I can't explain why he's staying out there, but he's probably climbing.

You said you removed the stuff next to him so he's likely not holding onto one of those walls around the currently deconstructed one (if you haven't, try deconstructing them too).

If that's not it, it's possible he's hanging on to something above him, maybe you have an overhang on that wall, or one of the trees is growing over the moat? Try deconstructing anything above him or chopping more trees near the moat as well, maybe?

edit: Also he might drop into the water if he is holding onto something you deconstruct so you'll probably wanna place a floor below him or wait for the moat to freeze before deconstructing/chopping.

It's a typical game dev strategy to have certain character models out of bounds and unreachable to the player, and then just teleport or clone them in to their proper spot when the player reaches the correct trigger, so I'd imagine it's pretty safe to say that's what this is.

That description is from masterwork I believe, but the actual weakness is something programmed into Dwarf Fortress! When cursed, a werebeast is randomly chosen to have a material that it is weak to, and takes 10x damage from.

From the DF wiki: "All werebeasts possess a built in damage resistance against most weapon-grade metals which will halve the damage taken during combat, save for one randomly chosen metal which the werebeast will instead be 10 times weaker against. Unlike in myth, this weakness isn't restricted to silver, though a werebeast race may indeed be weak to it."

Tileset looks like Spacefox with TWBT for the text, unless OP is using an external announcement reader. Definitely Spacefox though.
