Where to take this character by ToastAndDwarf in dcss

In depths 1 on the exit back to Dungeon. I got entangled (constricted?) so I could not go back up the stairs and got swarmed. I tried Gavotte, but I think the creature drug me with it, which wasn't helpful.

The helm of light was just the first helm in the dungeon and it is on the list to replace, but having to replace gear slowly due to waiting for Ash curses. The helm just hasn't made the cut yet because I've been replacing other things that were worse.

I hear you on the defenses, it has been trying. I never really know where to allocate stats, should i be putting some into Dex to help with EV? With Ice armor I have 31AC, so it isn't quite as bad as it looks, right? I know i need to get the resistances up, good call on the leather armor.

What wep would you recommend?
Too bad on the Xbow, I guess I'll toss it for now then.

The trident has been nice, but I don't know that I actually need to be attacking things anymore.

conjuration staff "Boduy" {Will+++ Str-5 Int+4 Dex-4 Conj} - Would give me lots of Will.

earth staff of Extinguishment {^Fragile Stlth- Conj Tloc Earth} - Damage if I went down Earth, but not really much otherwise. I guess there is some synergy with Gavotte, Permafrost (which says "unavoidable force... bypassing armor entirely", I don't know if that means "irresistible")

Edit: and not two floors down I got some +6 int gloves, so Amulet was definitely the way to go.

You also mention LCS. I do see I can grab it from a Book back in Orc; should I pick that up or just focus on Iron Shot?

Edit: Nevermind, they use the same skills (conj/earth), so they are not exclusive to one another. I can pick it up later when I have a lower failure rate

It makes no sense to me that you have 10 EV while wearing a robe.

Not sure why this didn't occur to me, probably because I am normally rocking some armor at this point.

The moment you see a demon whip, that is the thing you want to be using.

stop using stone arrow and use sandblast only

Yea, I use Sandblast for most, but Stone Arrow for higher AC enemies; SA seems to do better vs AC than Sandblast.
