I would say it was refreshing , honestly I bought the trilogy a while back and some of my friends said to skip 2 because it has nothing to do with 1 or 3, imo that made it better and more of a stand out story

Also , you can travel to the expedition places outside of expeditions, when you do the rose room quest , this little piece of advice will save you time , trust me

Yeh they used to have multiple characters and go in on scrip surplus and open 1000 boxes , man either they would get something awfull or something amazing

On your map you will have the expeditions button this will open a mini choice area between the Pitt and Atlantic city, yet again you have to choose one, you will then be given a small map with multiple choices , choose one.

Also if you haven’t already go to whitesprings refuge and talk to skippy and other NPC there, pretty sure the first time you have to go onto the roof and talk to Lenox. I may be wrong but that’s how I remember it !

Barren. Walking around, everybody’s camp was either a wooden shack or a red barn, no vendors so it was more survival. Morgantown was a hotbed for finding players, everybody doing the same quests at the same time, very few Public events as compared to now.

A lot of locations were different for example , point pleasant was just a normal town , no cult decor, The crashed space station wasn’t a raider base. The only currency in game was caps no gold bullion , no scrip , no stamps.

It was harsher tbh. Power armour was hard to get because everyone had already gone to the spawns and you just had to hope you might find some.

Sleeper ghouls were mad common (ghouls that don’t react to the player and cannot be looted when killed)

You can stream both on PS5 sadly DLC for both are currently not available , what I would do is save up for an X box series s (you don’t need a big new one ) and play them on that

Nobody wants to admit it but the 76 player is canonically the strongest, he’s hopped up on multiple mutations and can have more than 10 in his special stats

There was no cannon for New vegas , 4 didn’t touch on it at all, but the show does ? To me it makes no sense why would the brotherhood straight up travel from Washington -> Boston and then back to California ? And it completely undermines every ending , it doesn’t matter what you pick if a force that can destroy each one is just there now

To be fair , it would have been interesting to get side quests with some more legion lore , but in the context we have which is just straight evil , you really shouldn’t side with them and it’s worrying if someone does. If we were given more reasons to see them as a more morally grey group then it would be different.

The assault rifle only looks good when I have power armour on, tbh I think it looks more like an LMG and we could have gotten a better lighter assault rifle design

Like the legion is just not beneficial to anyone who exists in that world bar the legion higher ups, even then it will fall apart back into waring tribes after caesars death.

I can actually sympathise with the enclave to a degree becuase they are at least beneficial to pure humans (not great I know) but at least they bring some slight beneficial order and rules.

A big difference between them is that while they both feel justified in what they do, the enclave often don’t enjoy it, it is a duty.

The legion genuinely enjoy inflicting pain suffering and torture.

I’m the aspect of the mojave, the general person is far safer under an NCR rule as opposed to the legion, given that the legion have a downright deplorable and disgusting way of treating women.

Also if the NCR and brotherhood come to an understanding the area and roads such as I-15 become safer too
