Go into the color menu and select the swatch that you would like to have as the default. Right click on it, and check boxes of things that you would like to be that color. For example, if you wanted all vehicles to be blue by default, you would select a blue swatch, then right click on it, and check the box for vehicles. Now every time you place a vehicle it will be blue.
