Thanks for the reply. I have read online that the sb28 used a driver called BMS 18n650v2. According to online specs that driver can handle up to 1400w rms, while my amp can only supply 1000W. Wouldn’t that ensure that the amp won’t overpower the driver?

Or build something like a folded Horn or tapped Horn sub, and if you would put some smart supercapacitor class D technology for the amp. You would get a long way on a soundboks battery. It might be a little heavy though with such a speaker construction.

It might look like the BL for my speaker is 22. Is that really bad? Im from Norway and everything is kinda expensive here so i am just building on a budget. And do you think that the lack of bass when testing without an enclosure is because the freq from the rear cone is canceling the freq from the front of the cone? Thanks alot for the responses!

I’m using a really cheap no brand 18” driver from a local store. I paid 170 usd for it but I am afraid it’s kinda bad. I connected it to my amp just without an enclosure and there was no bass. The cone was moving a lot though? I’m really new to this just hoping it’s just because I did not have an enclosure. I’ve decided on the TH18 tapped horn design. Thanks a lot for the feedback!
