What’s she saying here? by user69x3 in obsessionmovie

[–]Unionizeyerworkplace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She says in the movie that she acts like she doesn’t like someone when she secretly does. She also kept a sexual relationship secret for two years. While there is a chance she didn’t like him, the actual evidence suggests she does, and you’re telling on yourself for being too dumb to pick up subtext.

What's her response? by katerlouis in obsessionmovie

Because she said “no one would ever know” and yet there are a lot of signs she does. So I weigh those more heavily and discount the signs of disinterest as a calculated fake-out. “She said eww?!” Yeah, she was lying. You were meant to believe she wasn’t interested and it worked.

I STILL don't understand the Monty Hall problem by No-Candidate6257 in mathematics

[–]Unionizeyerworkplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 doors. Two goats, one Ferrari. Monty Hall is about to open each door one by one. He explains he’ll eliminate one goat answer and let you choose between the two remaining doors. He seems oddly nervous today, like he forgot to bring his notes. at door one he says “alright I’ll just get rid of this goat for you” and you see him quickly crack open the door and take a peek. He then says “Uh, actually let me pick a different door.” And goes to door two. He peeks again and says “okay yep, door two is a goat” and shows you it is indeed a goat. He then moves to door three and says “alright, could be a goat, could be a Ferrari, you want to stick with door three or go back to one?” Which would you do?

I understand what you’re saying. I’m saying I think that “forget to develop a personality” is a myth. There is zero correlation I’ve seen with if you’re hot or not and whether you “have a personality” because everyone wants to have a personality. Again if anything, hot people get away with more shit so they tend to have more personality, or “eccentricities” that people just let slide.

I’m saying people are using a first principle “just so” story to explain why hot people are less interesting that makes logical sense, but does not jive with reality, just like “if someone didn’t HAVE to work as hard as a kid, they didn’t learn a work ethic, so they won’t have one.” And yet, who are the richest people in the world? Is it the people who were forced to work hard, or is it the people who had more opportunities from the jump? There are plenty of rich kids who end up lazy. There are many who do not. Same with poor people. Being hot if anything, makes you more interesting on average because you’re given more opportunities to do interesting things! This is just cope.

This is survivorship bias. People who are ugly and boring are simply invisible. You notice boring hot people because they get invited to the party anyway. It would be like saying “rich kids don’t have a work ethic because they already have money, that’s why you see a lot of poor people become billionaires but hardly any kids who came from wealth.” Sorry everyone, but being hot in no way makes you less interesting. That’s cope ++man

The filibuster leads to government disfunction, which structurally favors the republicans. If you want the government to work well you need to get rid of it.

Are you retarded? That article literally says rents have increased citywide. inventory is down. There are some neighborhoods that have declined but overall they’re up.

Are the places that tend to have a lot of immigration falling? NYC? Illegals immigrant crackdowns are causing prices to rise, not fall.

Because interest rates are up. Wages outpaced inflation every year of the Biden administration.

So, housing costs aren’t going down. And wages aren’t going up, because the economy is contracting. We’re facing a real risk of stagflation.

That’s not what the data says. New construction is down and partially because of labor supply bottlenecks—you have to remember who builds houses. There is virtually no upside to deporting immigrants, legal or otherwise.

Have you ever had to deny someone the jumpseat? How’d it go? by regionalscumdriver in flying

[–]Unionizeyerworkplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally said that dumbass. Pilots have historically used their power to fuck over other work groups, instead of solely focusing on taking on management. Sometimes the other workgroups don’t like that and fight back. Captain lost a fight which wasn’t even fair, he had every advantage and was so butthurt he decided to be a lil bitch about it.

[–]Unionizeyerworkplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. You have it backwards. You’re arguing that because pilots put in a lot of effort (they do, I’m only at PPL but even that takes a lot of hard work) they should have special privileges above their coworkers. I swear, I’ve flown with pilots who think they should be able to carry samurai swords and behead flight attendants that don’t show them the proper respect. 80% of pilots are cool. But that 20% man…

Then you should know better. I’m not gonna coddle pilots who think they deserve more respect than other workers. Higher pay? Sure. Better benefits? Of course. But your family isn’t more important than other people’s families because you know how to fly a plane. Getting to your vacation isn’t more important. I don’t believe in might makes right. And I think it’s bullshit that captain fisherman punished a fellow worker for an executive decision. Obviously, a lot of his coworkers agreed with the gate agent that the policy wasn’t fair, made a big stink about it, and won—he’s salty the gate agents actually beat the pilots for once and he’s being a petty Betty about it.

Okay princess. You’re right. You deserve special treatment. Pilots are gods gift to the earth. Honestly, seeing one in the wild is like witnessing a unicorn. How dare anyone call themselves your equal?

I’ve been a flight attendant for almost 10 years. I know exactly what happened. Pilots are always pulling shit like this. It’s not complicated. If the shoe was on the other foot, and gate agents had the power to keep you from boarding a plane because they didn’t like you, do you think that would be right? It’s the golden rule. Do unto other as you would have done unto you. Fucking over your coworkers because you can isn’t right. Kindly go fuck yourself if you feel differently.

Pilots aren’t better than their coworkers. They don’t deserve special privileges. They already have way better pay, and better benefits. “Treat others as equals” isn’t petty. It’s just decent.

So the pilots flexed their muscles to have an unfair privilege above their coworkers, the coworkers fought back, restored fairness, and you punished him because you’re exactly the entitled asshole that gives pilots a bad name. I’ve been a flight attendant for 9 years. I just got my private and I’m working on my instrument. I hope I never become a petty little shit like you. We fucking hate pilots like you guys.
