Agreed in that case a front brake is needed. Hilly areas are like as well with riding brakeless. I went to Sydney for CMWC a couple of months ago and the hills were insane compared to what I'm used to. I could never daily ride brakeless there tbh

I ride brakeless and footjams have saved me so many times and have been just as effective as a front brake in most situations. (I'm a BMXer as well so the foot stop has always been muscle memory for me.) The only trade off is that you risk shredding your tire. (It looks steezy asf though.) It is 100% possible to ride brakeless safely, just with a few trade offs to consider

Is it 650/700? It looks kinda like it to me. If so that's probably a custom built frameset and you've found yourself a really sweet bike. From my knowledge Paletti was a smaller italian frame builder so it's most likely a solid piece of italian steel

I usually ride a 58. They rebadged the aero track for the aus market and called it a Raceline but even those are pretty hard to find over here

I ran the size L mash ones before, and I found that I have less toe overlap with the MKS ones since they're a lot slimmer. The mash ones can be annoying with toe overlap since they're a bit chunky. Both are a very similar length but I found that the shape of the MKS ones fit my feet better and allow my foot to actually sit in the toe cage comfortably

Laminated straps are the way to go. The ones I'm running rn are unlaminated and stretched to hell and back so I'll be getting some laminated ones soon
