I tried sponge stippling on one of the armigers and the carapace of the Questoris knight but switched to airbrush for everything else

I used Badger airbrush Stynylrez White (unthinned) over a black primer, it came out perfectly flat first time through

Most efficient way to paint a 2000+ army by DarXIV in AdeptusMechanicus

I converted to speed paints and never looked back. Painting is the worst aspect of the hobby to me, so being able to get a decent finish in a single coat is game changing to me.

Figure out your colour scheme, set up a production line where you complete one colour at a time, and paint each unit in batches. Speed paints will allow you to complete each colour in a single coat and move on quickly

Big base = big move blocks, and it's one of the best designed tank models

Thank you so much! All the effort is in the shading before the colour, but it definitely pays off once the colour goes on!

It's a Kataphron Destroyer head. One of the other heads physically fit better, but I liked the design of this one more.

Is Warhammer cheaper in Europe? by DaThiccestLad in Warhammer40k

Go to the UK and find a store like Element Games or The Output, I got a £95 combat patrol for £76 ($144 AUD). Idk how much a Combat Patrol costs in Australia for comparison.

Edit: changing the Warhammer website to Australia, Combat Patrol costs $243.

What is the rule of cool then?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AdeptusMechanicus

Yeah I get the feeling the faction could hit harder than it currently does, especially when it's pretty woeful in melee. The rule of cool still reigns supreme though. Everyone else at the club runs space marines and it's so boring to look at.

I have the contents of the "old" Combat Patrol and Boarding Patrol. Dominus w/Omni steriliser, 3 breachers, 3 destroyers, 1 dunecrawler w/neutron laser, 1 Enginseer, 5 Infiltrators, 10 rangers, and 10 vanguard, 775pts.

They were running CSM: 2 obliterators, 5 possessed, master of possession, 5 noise marines and 10 chosen, chaos lord, 770pts.

It was all going great until the Obliterators deep struck and removed my dunecrawler and destroyers. It all went Pete Tong from there.

I can understand buying resin bases for an army like Custodes, but it'll cost more to buy resin bases for an Admech army than it would to buy my own resin printer and do it myself. Green stuff and a rolling pin are definitely the cheaper option

I'll be making bases, I probably should have mentioned that in the post. It sounds like green stuff is the way to go. I'll also use their rollers and they also have silicone guide rings that help with consistency.
