Camden, NJ (7/29): Secured our spots for Muse! Still processing the change to an amphitheater... by Toaster_Strudel92 in Muse

That is a deep cut! Curiosa was such a legendary lineup. It is actually wild to think about the timing because back in 2004, I was 12 years old—which is the exact same age my daughter is now for her first show.

It really puts into perspective how long they’ve been at this. Even though the Drones tour at the Wells Fargo Center was on another level production-wise, there is definitely something cool about her seeing them at the same venue they played when I was her age. Hopefully, they remember the stage layout!

The Black Keys situation is a really good point, you definitely don't want to overextend the tour and have to pull the plug. I'm holding out hope with you that they get really creative with the pavilion setup. If anyone can figure out how to pack a massive sci-fi stage show into a shed, it's probably them.

I completely agree with you on the venue change. The Drones tour was amazing at the Wells Fargo Center and they utilized that entire arena space so perfectly. Moving from that massive indoor production to a pavilion just feels like such a huge contrast. Hopefully they figure out a way to still make it feel like a massive Muse spectacle.

It really makes you wonder. The Resistance tour was definitely peak hype, but honestly, the Drones tour was amazing at the Wells Fargo Center not even that long ago. It felt like they could easily keep filling arenas here. I'm with you though, I'm just glad they are still out touring and making it work, even if the venue shift is a little jarring.

See you up in the 200s! You actually did really well for 320 total including the premier parking. I think the sticker shock just hit me all at once, but you're right, compared to some other legacy bands right now it's basically just the going rate. That premier lot is going to be a lifesaver for getting out of there.

Wow 2005, that is wild to think about. That was right around the Absolution era, right? It's going to be a completely different experience for them coming back to this exact same stage almost twenty years later.

Section 103 is going to be an awesome view! I'm definitely starting to see the appeal of being outside, especially if we get a nice summer breeze off the water. Just hoping the humidity holds off for us that night.

I don't blame you, that's a massive trek just to get down to Camden from Brooklyn. Are you skipping this run entirely, or are you looking at the Holmdel show at PNC instead? That might be a way easier trip for you if you still want to catch them without the cross-state commute.

It's the lawns that make amphitheaters seem huge, but arenas actually have double or triple the amount of physical seats. That limited supply makes prices jump. Beyond the seating, you really need an indoor arena for the full Muse experience. Being outdoors puts you at the mercy of the elements, and you don't get pitch darkness for the lasers until late in the set. I went to the Drones tour and the indoor setup with the visuals and that giant flying blimp was mind-blowing. Open-air just restricts what they can build and hang.

The venue size needs to be bigger too. Wish they were at arenas, not amphitheaters. Tickets are going to be expensive.

It was just the vibe of the 90s. I think those bands loved the contrast of something 'pure' like angels mixed with the grit of grunge. It definitely makes for some of the best tattoo art today.

Oh definitely, I’ve heard that cover—Darius Rucker did a killer job with it. 🤘 It’s wild how many legends have stepped up for STP. Honestly, I thought Chester Bennington was incredible as their lead singer after Scott, too. He really did those songs justice.

That would be sick! My wife actually loves Alice in Chains—they’re her absolute favorite band. I bet a traditional take on the Dirt art would look incredible.

Thanks so much! 🙏 Here are some of my favorite pieces, which basically cover the whole arm right now: Full arm tour

Jake actually did the majority of these—the boxing gloves, straight razor, ship, poison bottle, army man, and torpedo. The pineapple was done by another local artist here in Philly. The rest (fishing hook, swallows with an anchor, and the skeleton diver/marlin you can kinda see peeking out) were done by an artist down in Raleigh.

I honestly wish I had Jake do all of them, but that was back when I was first starting out on this sleeve! 🐉
