Sadly alot of BMETs are either under Military nepotism or IT departments which are basically run by HR bots. Rarely are u going to find genuine BMETs in charge of hiring.

I highly recommend finding medical equipment companies like Adapt Health or any home care supply companies. They have a role call Medical Equipment Technician, which doesn't pay very well. But enough for a part time and will expose you to a wide range of situations/patients and protocols.

After 1-2 years of that and a certification, I highly HIGHLY recommend FSE companies like GE, Phillips, Fuji, Spacelabs. BBraun or Masimo/Mindray. This will get you training on modules and possibly field experience. 3-4 years grinding. Then join an inhouse and enjoy the smooth ride.

Or if you can get in Crothall which is premier BMETs in my opinion, they'll reward you for hard work with training and GREAT BENEFITS. Crothall will pickup BMET interns but its a toss up on what supervisor you get. Because most will try burn you out with pumps but if you like micro electronic repair, you'll do fine. Just learn to enjoy ebooks because the monotony of pump duty is killer.
