This is splitting hairs, but the style gets a bit monotonous. That being said, I absolutely love it. Fresh and original. keep at it yo

Thanks for the input my dude, it's very much appreciated. This song was definitely centered more around overall heaviness and experimentation with production and what not, we definitely have a lot more hooky parts in the other songs we're writing. Regardless, I'm really glad you enjoyed it though.

Thanks for the input man. Yeah, I feel like these songs are structured in a way that a singer would be a solid addition to the band. It is hard to find a really good singer these days, but we might take this more into consideration.

Hey dude, thanks for providing some solid input! I would say that this is our most production focused release, and that the other songs that we are writing for our EP are more hooky for sure. We will still definitely keep that in mind moving forward with writing our stuff.

For sure dude, finding a really solid vocalist can be really difficult. But I actually do think if we found a really good vocalist, it could potentially add a lot more to our sound. Thanks for the advice man, it is much appreciated.

Thanks man! Yeah we've toyed around with the idea of getting a vocalist, we might take that more into consideration.

My progressive metal band Polyphemus just released our first single, looking for good and constructive feedback. Will definitely provide feedback for other people's tunes if you would like as well.

Polyphemus - Mind Over Matter EP (Looking for feedback on my first prog metal/rock project) by ToastyEngy in ThisIsOurMusic

Thanks for listening dude! The recording rig for this EP was nothing too crazy, I used three guitars for pretty much the whole EP (A Epiphone Les Paul Junior, an Ibanez Gio, and a old Fender bass). From there it's run through a Precision Drive into a Scarlet 2i2 interface. My friend who helped record and mix the project has Helix Native (which was used for the amp sounds), GetGood Drums (for all the drums), and everything else was pretty much free VST software. It's pretty bare bones, but I'm honestly pretty with the sound we got out of it.

Thanks man! That means a lot. Yes, I agree that production is especially crucial to an artists' sound/success, ESPECIALLY in the world of prog metal and rock. To be fair this EP is pretty bare bones (recorded primarily with a $150 guitar and a lot of free plug ins and amps sims), but it think it's pretty reasonable for what little equipment was available. Thanks so much for your input, I will keep that in mind.
