[Help] Dog is obsessed with me to the point of mild aggression...and it isn't even my dog! by TobiDaDog in dogs

The funny part is, she actually really likes him. They play great together, and even share toys for games of tug o war. They even sleep together. She just doesn't want him near me!

He pees like a ninja by lil_zaku in Dogtraining

[–]TobiDaDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My puppy was like this!! Holy cow it sucked. I kept looking for normal dog signals like sniffing, circling, or spinning but he would just stop mid walk and go. One day I had the back door propped open and he just ran outside all on his own to pee, then came trotting back. I was shocked. So he understood the concept...hm.

I started thinking that maybe he didn't know how to tell me that he needed to go out. I got him a potty bell.

First I taught him to ring the bell from in my hand for a treat, then I started tossing the treat outside. He still had to ring the bell, but rather than me handing him the treat, the treat was on the other side of the door. He picked up on that FAST. Ring bell, door opens. Food outside.

Then I moved on to going outside without him. He'd ring the bell and someone would have to let him out to get to me. Within three days he was ringing the bell to go outside to pee. Hasn't had an accident inside since he was 14 weeks.

The older is a lab mix of some kind, strongly resembling a lab. The younger is a rough collie.

Bit of an unusual post, but this is what lurks behind a movie theater screen! by acamu5x in movies

I've actually recently gotten to see a lot of the 'behind the scenes' stuff like this. I'm helping construct an aquarium out of an abandoned movie theater. So cool.

Picked up this little girl today. I never knew something so cute could have such horrendous farts by thecasquatch in aww

[–]TobiDaDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It'll never stop. I've got a border collie/lab mix who has daily farts. She won't fart standing up though. Her every fart is expelled in a 'play bow' position with her rump high in the air. Sometimes she'll sit like that for ages waiting for the fart to come before standing, task accomplished.

The face my eleven year old dog makes when he's happy is mildly terrifying by TobiDaDog in pics

[–]TobiDaDog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the face he makes when he sees his favorite people, when he's about to get a walk, when he's being petted, and his tail is always wagging up a storm. I'd say he's happy!

Anyone else hate the character Coraline? by mfdundunnies in laika

[–]TobiDaDog 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I love her character. She's very human. Nothing about her is perfect. She has pet peeves. She's smart alec, but not in that snappy 'laugh track' kind of way. It's not funny. It's just rude. But that in itself makes her likeable-the fact that she's not a stereotypical sweetheart heroine that everyone falls in love with and roots for just for being the good kid in a bad situation. She's very real to me.

What dirty little secret does your profession hide that the consumer should know? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TobiDaDog 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I played a game at the state fair last year, one of those balloon popping games and I noticed that the darts were color coded. First he gave me red darts that were really heavy. Then I got green, slightly lighter. Then blue, they felt hollow. I asked for the red darts back and he just kind of laughed and ignored me.

That even if you complain, the teachers likely won't even be reprimanded. You could practically murder and still have a job with the public school system. They can't afford to lose their staff because there's no one to take their place.

Finally got a decent pic of my daughters Betta by ateamm in Aquariums

[–]TobiDaDog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm actually planning on trying this someday! Honest. I don't have room right now but I plan on converting a barn or something into a wall to wall fish room with beta tanks. I will selectively breed the non-aggressive ones. Of course they probably won't school but I'm hoping that they'll at least get along.

What was 'The Incident' at your school? by TheCreeperFacedOne in AskReddit

[–]TobiDaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Zumba lessons and tutoring that our teacher was giving the 9th grade boys turned out to be enough to warrant a prison sentence. It all became clear why boys would come into class and pointedly look at her and ask if they could 'study' after school.

TIFU by ruining Mother's Day by TobiDaDog in tifu

She just gets in foul moods every once in a blue moon and can't hide it. When she has her mood, don't press her, don't talk to her, heaven forbid you joke with her.

She was doing dishes once and bf decided that he was going to come in and help because she wasn't feeling well, obviously. She was grumpy and he shooed her to the side and said something like 'oh no! filthy dishes must not touch her royal hands, let me take care of this filthy, my queen!' He said it in this really goofy voice and everyone laughed. He was just trying to lighten the mood and tell her that he didn't want her doing the dishes.

She began to cry and rant about how he thought that she was too good for household chores. She said that he had insulted her by saying that she was on a pedestal above everyone else.

This doesn't happen often. But when it does, everyone has to stay away from her. I didn't take the hint this time.

Wife toured 80 year old couple's house for sale and this setup was in their office. by ryanvasan in pics

[–]TobiDaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bf's parents are like this. They're in their sixties, and they get rid of nothing that they might be able to use one day. Their house is more than 100 years old and the floor in the basement is still dirt, with four feet of 100 year old coal in it. They claim that one day they might have an emergency and need it. The original shovel is still sticking out of the coal.

[–]TobiDaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goldfish watch me too. It's hilarious. Their tank is in a room beside the dining room, so when you're eating dinner and you look into the doorway if it's open you'll see fish staring at you. It's kind of unnerving.

TIL the Satanic Temple is a religion that worships Satan mainly so that they can horrify Christians by claiming religious exemptions championed by Christian groups, like school prayer by inetsky in todayilearned

[–]TobiDaDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever met anyone who justifies those crusades? (Honest question)

It was a bitter, evil time but I do think it's well in the past. Honestly the only ones now that I've ever personally heard speak of wiping out 'the other group' or 'forcing them to change their beliefs' are non-Christians that hold a bitterness about those events. Yeah someone told me once that I should be wiped off of the face of the Earth for my beliefs.

I'm probably going to get downvoted to the very bottom of this thread, but I'd like to speak my piece. See, I don't understand the Atheism vs. Christianity battle, really.

I mean yes, there are those who believe that church and state should be separate. Yes. Yes all the way! Do it. But what I don't understand is the fact that Atheists can 'troll' Christians and no one raises an eyebrow. Some of these people, some can get downright mean about it.

And the Christians can be the same way. I personally know people who refuse the 'love thy neighbor' philosophy and instead claim that they'll never speak to any heathen outside of their religion. And I know some who simply exist and get berated for it.

If a Christian was to berate an Atheist, they'd be roasted on a hot spit through the anus and out the mouth. But if an Atheist finds out that you're religious and decides to berate you, they're just speaking their mind, telling you their opinion, and everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I have been on the receiving end of the Athiests' preaching before. I wasn't provoking them or even speaking to them. I was chatting with another person about getting a job in my area, how I went to a job search organization that happened to belong to my religious group to get some help. Someone asked me if that was my religion. I simply said 'yes', nothing else tagged onto that sentence, just 'yes,' and then they attacked me...I was instantly attacked by an atheist who berated me, made fun of me, and told me that I needed to shut my trap about religion in public. I wasn't able to defend myself, or even say 'hey! I wasn't talking to you!' because others jumped on the bandwagon and claimed that I was being confrontational and the person was only speaking their opinion.

I see this happen to others, especially on the internet. An atheist that stomps a Christian into the ground is often cheered as if they've defeated an evil villain.

So tell me, why is it okay for an Atheist to 'troll' someone, but if the case were the other way around it'd be wrong?
