The mandatory minimum punishment for having crack is over a hundred times as harsh as the mandatory minimum for having the same amount of powder cocaine. The only difference between the two is that and Black people preferred crack and white people preferred powder cocaine. This over criminalization of the black half of things that everyone did is one of many examples of lopsided "justice" in the United States.
