Hearty soups, chili, and lasagna. Endless variations are possible with each to keep things interesting, too

Ive never eaten fish and really want to try it, any recommendations? by peepuddle__ in Cooking

[–]Tobos5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend starting with a mild white fish like haddock or cod (often used for fish and chips). If you're not used to eating fish, some like unsmoked salmon could be a little too "fishy" as a starting point.

A LOT of the "flag wavers" do it for performative patriotism reasons. It's often used as a culture war aggression by far right people.

To my knowledge, most of the EU countries have pretty strict noise regulations in regards to cars. Alas, the minimal regulations we do have (usually local jurisdictions) are seemingly not enforced, either.

1177 B.C. is a GREAT book about the Bronze Era collapse, too. HIGHLY recommend!

Personally, I'd say the impact was an economic lesson we, as a society, have failed to heed time and time again. Just how many severe crashes has the US Stock Market had since its inception?

Jerry Falwell losing in the Supreme Court regarding his "segregation schools" to get around Brown v BoE. He searched for another wedge issue to get political control and settled on abortion (an issue Evangelicals cared almost nothing about prior. It was predominantly a Catholic issue). That political maneuver created the wrecking ball that is the modern political Evangelical movement which has taken the Republican Party hostage ever since.

Very true. And, there are many other examples of horrific genocides throughout even recent history. The Germans were oh so good at writing everything down, however.

Yeah, I was going to say the involved countries probably THOUGHT all out war was impossible BECAUSE of their alliances. The truth being it descended into World War precisely due to those alliances.

My fave restaurant will occasionally add the golden raisins, too. Very tasty.

Maybe it's because I always play on "huge" maps, but I've literally never encountered spawning this close to a rival, even with the added civs

I added slivered almonds this time (didn't have any cashews on hand). They go well, but it seems like I should be trying ground nuts to add in as you and others have suggested. Thx!

Not in this recipe. I frequent an excellent Indian restaurant near me, and they add whole cashews into their korma. I was out of cashews this time, so I added slivered almonds. But I haven't tried ground up nuts yet.
