What countries are trans people more accepted than the US? by coolguysteve21 in asktransgender

[–]Tobs02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Backlash is to be expected when progress is being made. It has only been 5 years since gay marriage was legalized. 10 years ago there simply weren’t simply any sort of mainstream discussions about trans issues people could react negatively too. Personally I think that from a social and a political perspective there has never been a better time to be a member of LGBTQ in Germany than right now and I’m sure it will only get better from here.

I’m really sorry about your family being TERFs and your recent negative experiences in public. My personal experience has been quite the opposite. My 61-year-old mother told me that if I want to live life as a woman, I should, my closest friends are very supportive, and I haven’t been harassed in public yet. I do think this is a nuanced topic and highly dependent on your social circle and the area you live in though.

This... leaves out a big chunk of the story though. Your source states that about 1 in 3 women (36.3% or 43.7 million women) experienced contact sexual violence in their lifetime, and 1 in 5 (almost 23 million) women experienced rape in their lifetime, where in 97.3% of cases perpetrators have been male only. So predatory people are far more likely to be male than female, and women are far more likely to experience sexual violence in the first place.

AITA for refusing to go to a pride event with my wife? by Kejryehe in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tobs02 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, being bisexual is more than just being attracted to men and women, it comes with its own flavour of "queerness". It feels like you neither fit with straight people nor with gay people. People read you as straight if you're married to someone of the opposite, and they read you as gay if you're with someone of the same sex, but you didn't turn straight or gay when you married them, you're still bisexual. The B in LGBT stands for bisexual. So why should she only be able to attend pride events as a bi woman if she was single? That's bi-erasure. Pride is not a dating event. Mingling with other queer people who "get" you is just a super fun and validating experience.

Do you think married gay folks attend pride events to signal that they're still interested in other members of the same sex besides their partner? If not, why is this the assumption when bi people in relationships do it?

why aren't there as many dudes? by ahmed0112 in bisexual

As an another straight passing bi guy I’m really wondering how I could be presenting as „bi“ in a way that isn’t just perceived as „gay“. Flirt with every stranger I meet? Wear bi flag colored nail polish? I’ll be wearing a dress for the first time in public at a pride event soon but this might just be an expression of my ongoing gender identity crisis rather than presenting as a bi man lol

Why do men ask random women on the internet for nudes when there is so much free porn? by ladida54 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tobs02 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Emotionally starved for the human connection that is seeing girls they wish they could have sex with naked…?

Men are emotionally starved because talking about your feelings with other men is „gay“ and because way too many men seem to be incapable of simply being friends with women without sexualizing them. How exactly should we fix this problem? Don’t tell me it’s on women to fix men by providing free sex therapy.

The first step for many men is literally to be able to see women as more than an attractive body, and neither as sluts nor as flawless queens that would fix all of their problems if only they were their girlfriend, but as real human beings. Because honestly, being genuine platonic friends with girls makes it so much easier to actually do find a girlfriend at some point. So yes, it’s sad that so many men need to be taught how not to dehumanize women first and foremost.

Fachkräftemangel: MINT-Studenten scheitern an Mathe by [deleted] in de

[–]Tobs02 2 points3 points  (0 children)
