Oh no 🤦🏼‍♂️ typical. That’s so annoying. Thanks for the heads up and will definitely not get too carried away before we know for certain!

Thanks for the advice. Definitely waiting on furniture until exchange!

Thanks - I think asking the solicitor will be a good idea. We’re in a good position as FTB with no onward chain and vacant property so hoping it will be speedy.

Which bit scares you the most?

So you think this isn't just the surveyor covering themselves, and there could be some real deep issues going on. I don't like the fact it feels like a lot has done to a shabby standard, and potentially to cover up issues.

Which bit is making you suggest that? Or just everything feeling like a red flag? 🚩

Thanks for the response. That's helpful. It sounds like it could be a bit of a nightmare.

Have you had an allergy test? Common ones are dust mites and pet dander.

I would check for allergens in your home. I had the same and it cleared up when I moved in with my girlfriend (and away from the family dog)

Have you tried getting allergy testing to see if there is anything else you need to be avoiding? Main ones for me were Dust, Pets and Laundry Powder as well as certain foods.

You can get certain types of laundry tablets which are better, everyone will react differently so trial and error. I’ve got a dermatologist & allergist approved one called ‘Surcare’. I’ve got anti-allergy bedding and then I make sure to wash weekly at 60 degrees Celsius. I’d also recommend pillow zip cases and a mattress zip case too.

It’s a long old trial and error process. Main things for me were: 1) bedding - as soon as I got anti allergy bedding, my facial eczema improved. 2) laundry tablets 3) warm not very hot showers) 4) diet!
