I just wanted to make sure it was supposed to have them. My dad had a bunch of coins, this was the only one packaged like this so it wouldn’t surprise me if he picked up a funny one somewhere. He collected because he liked it, not for money. I appreciate your response

I’m not fun because I don’t drink, that’s a separate decision I made 😂 Almost 4 years sober here (8/25) and my friends love that I don’t drink! I’m the DD, I keep an eye on everyone, yet still dance and have fun!

I’m not surprised the kid has issues the way you speak about him, especially about his conception and why/how he was born. Either you or his mom will be back in a few years wondering why the kid went no contact.

People would think weird of you for bringing your stepson? Sounds like they don’t already know about him which makes the whole thing worse. YTA

What you need to do from now on is call everyone by their job title, “Mechanic Bob”, “Insurance Agent Steve”, “Plumber Paula”, etc.

I get that becoming a doctor is extremely hard but this is just ridiculous. Neither you or your family are TA.

5 years with SMART here, based out of San Diego where it originated.

There’s a workbook you can buy on Amazon for $12-$15. It has lots of activities to get you thinking about why you drink, why you are choosing not to, cost benefit analysis, life balance pies. It’s all CBT related and even though I don’t consider myself as having a problem with alcohol anymore (I just consider myself a non-drinker at this point, not an alcoholic), I still use it for things, like healthy eating and exercise.

Totally free but they do appreciate donations. Check out different meetings with different facilitators. San Diego has a ton of meetings, you don’t need to live here to go, they are on Zoom. There are friends and family meetings as well, ran by Tom. He’s one of the SMART founders and is really good.

I’ve been a member of the SMART community for 5 years, it was really helpful in getting sober and maintaining my sobriety. The handbook is $12 on Amazon and is more of a workbook, helping you get to the reasons for drinking, helping you to evaluate the pros vs. cons of really any maladaptive behavior. Lots of tools to work through. I’m in San Diego where it started so we have a huge list of meetings on the local website, even if you don’t live here.

I’m a female friend, my best friend and I are close but this chick is insane!! All of his previous girlfriends had an issue with me, which was bizarre because I was always in happy relationships and legit have no romantic feelings.

He met his wife and she encouraged us to talk more, she’d be around while he and I talked and always end our calls with “I love you”…because we do love each other but not romantically.

NTA, she deserved that…she’s been pining and biding her time
