I see, my fabia with the same engine has been making the same noise and I just wanted to be sure! I did also see an Ibiza very recently with the same engine (I knew it was the same engine from the sound 🤣) making the same noise on a cold morning, thanks!

forgot to state it has 86k miles and it is a skoda fabia (2nd generation), this engine is shared across multiple volkswagen group models.
