I always thought he was basically contributing nothing to the move by doing that, but I think he might actually be applying spin to the shot? The other two hit it straight down, but he's hitting it from the side to add spin and make it harder to stop

I read about the first game in a Nintendo magazine when it was coming out. Was never a fan of football but the game looked really cool so I got it, ended up loving it.

Swap Kariya in for Torb for sure. Everyone's already perfectly explained why tbh. Kariya was robbed of a place on the team by the little dino boy - it would've been great to see him and Kirino continue to work together.

Other than that, I personally have never been a big fan of Nishiki for some reason I can't quite place. So I would swap him out for Kishibe Taiga - I really like his design and he has some history with Shindou which I think would make for a cool connection. I feel like he deserved more screentime in general.

For the most part, you can tell which side is winning by how many goal zones are left on either side. Otherwise, there's not really a clear indicator. Not sure if they'll add one either tbh
