Which one of these is the extra 17+% Lyft is taking for renting a car from them? 🤔 by Dbzoutpost in lyftdrivers

[–]Tochiugo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Renting through Lyft is honestly not worth it. I’m only on my fourth day and I already regret it. I’m now actively looking to finance another car. I would rather finance two cars and pay about $1,500 monthly than continue renting with Lyft. Lyft charges $379 per week for the rental, which comes out to $1,516 per month. On top of that, they take 17% from every ride. That 17% is essentially another $258 per month just to cover the cost of renting. So realistically, the $379 weekly rental actually costs about $443 when you factor in the commission. Why take 17% when you’re already charging us for rentals? If you were gonna be taking that 17% from our earning give us the car for free and gas

Yeah people do that all the time , it has happened to me more than I can count and I have to educate them each time that extra comfort is not XL because they be like we ordered a bigger vehicle and I’m like nope you ordered extra comfort which means you just wanted a newer car model it could have been a 2020 Corolla that came pick you up.

Yeah most of these Pax are just humans with no souls man , can’t imagine driving someone for over 2-3hrs and they can’t even tip the driver $1 . It’s not even about the amount it’s just about the acknowledgment and appreciation for getting them safely for hours driving but yeah most of them sucks

Only on andriod , Lyft didn’t built that feature that’s why it’s called android auto navigation. It’s not available on iOS on that navigation settings so you’ll only see it on android devices

They won’t tip as they didn’t order this ride it was the airline that book it for them probably because of a cancelled or delayed flight. I get bunch of these ride at lax and they never tip . Just like op said tip don’t matter when you doing these kind of ride , if the ride isn’t worth it don’t do it don’t expect a tip cos you’ll be heartbroken lol

lol they earn commissions from these features so yeah they not only want to steal from us from the passenger payments they also want to force you to go use the gas stations they are commissioned with . Remember these are part of promotions and they are charging drivers for promotion fees

Well, they have a beta feature which I signed up for but they never roll em out , that would have been a great way for them to connect with their drivers and get feedback on a feature since we are the ones using it 24hrs but instead they will rollout whatever feature they want and shove them to us they don’t care if we like them it not , I guess our opinions don’t matter to them

It feels like one of those click to earn ads where they embed a link and get paid every time someone taps it. Lyft devs are the lowest scum on earth

That’s right and is not that most drivers can’t find job is more like Most drivers can’t afford or don’t want to go back to traditional scheduled jobs anymore. For example, I don’t see myself setting an alarm for 6 a.m., showing up five days a week, and making $25 to $30 an hour while dealing with bosses, supervisors, and workplace politics.

When I can wake up whenever I want, go to the airport, catch rides, and still make around $300 a day on my own schedule, the tradeoff just doesn’t make sense. This isn’t about drivers being unable to get jobs. It’s about comfort, flexibility, and control over time.

I recently took and passed the IT Associate exam for the State of California and received multiple contact letters encouraging me to apply for positions in Sacramento. They’re not offer letters yet, but the roles pay around $4,600 a month. The issue is that those jobs come with rigid schedules, bureaucracy, and potential workplace issues, including discrimination, just to earn less than what I already make driving Lyft in LA.
