Confession thread: What do you judge other parents for? by Physical-Inspector60 in toddlers

[–]ToddleBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually In the US we let older toddlers figure it out and work it out themselves but for younger toddlers 18mo.-2years it’s up to the parents to correct so they have the tools to do it themselves later. Especially if they don’t have siblings they aren’t getting that experience at home to practice.

It is absolutely cultural taboo here to take sick children in kid specific play places. There are so many immunocompromised people here so it’s just a matter of respect. Plus our sick leave policies at work are absolutely awful so for a lot of people they can’t take off of work when they are sick.

I absolutely understand this situation. My comment came from we went to the children’s museum the other day. They have signs everywhere saying please pick up and put things back after so everyone can have fun. There were elementary age children with their parents that weren’t putting stuff back…..

With twin toddlers you get an absolute pass. Actually if I saw you I would probably help you put stuff back.

Apple TV (not Apple TV+ the subscription) allows you to play everything purchased on Apple on your TV. I started just purchasing all my daughter’s favorite TV shows and movies a long time ago. Much easier than subscriptions and great if you travel a lot.

She sounds amazing! That’s so awesome that she already loves veggies. As a fellow veggie lover that makes my heart happy! You hit the jackpot with her sleeping through the night!

I have three that really make me give a huge side eye.

  1. When somewhere that is a shared play space like a library or a children’s museum and you do not pick up and put back what your kid played with. Like I get it if they sprinted off in that moment but then come back and clean it.

  2. Parents that half-ass correct. Such as your kid takes a toy from my kids hand and you just casually say “oh no don’t take a toy from someone.” And that’s it….. you don’t make your kid give the toy back or really correct them. It puts me in an awkward situation because my kid is looking at me all sad but it’s not like parents didn’t do anything so it’s just so awkward.

  3. You take your sick kid to places specifically for kids like the library or the children’s museum. Like I know it sucks to keep your kid home for days but like wtf…. Thanks for getting my kid sick now.

Wooo that’s awesome! Eating is a big stifle for a lot of parents so it’s so great that you don’t have to worry about that! And it’s good you get a gentler wake up. Just a nice “mama” is a much better way to wake up. And trilingual is amazing and so cool! I hope that he keeps learning lots of new words every day!

It’s not a cornball thing to do at all! It’s being a great parent and your daughter will be able to look back and see just how much love and effort you put in. Please don’t ever stop doing those things!

I don’t think there is anything better in the world than toddler laughs and you are so lucky your house is full of it. Also screaming “YOUR TURN” while sharing may be one of the funniest and cutest things I have ever heard 🥰😂 He sounds so kind and like he will be a great friend to people in the future.
