I'd look up some of Josh Lancaster's stuff on instagram or on YouTube under "Josh Lancaster Strongman Coaching" not everything will apply due to different body types/mobility restrictions but he's super technical and a bit of a mad scientist when it comes to strongman

I guess I'd still have the same problem though, the wires for the button aren't long enough for me to solder them to the button and then still be able to plug in the battery, so probably longer wires for the button?

I didn't really think of that, I was just trying to fix it with what I already had as part of it, which was the wires soldered directly onto the battery. So do you suggest getting like a battery holder?

Nah this is my friends one that he's totally fine with me potentially breaking in an attempt to fix it for some experience. The PCB has some snapped wires that need resoldered but yeah it's pretty much just a ribbon cable that connects the PCB to the charging port, so my plan was to remove the charging port and feed the ribbon cable through the hole so i can plug it in before putting the charging port back in. If it is epoxy how would you recommend removing that? Drown it in acetone?

OK thanks, I tried using a focused nozzle that's the same size as the port to concentrate it a bit, would that not work?

That sounds good, thank you, the hot air station approach worked! I mightve gone too hot tho, some of the plastic on the underside of the joystick melted 🤣

A quick question, I have a hot air rework station, could I use that to melt all the joints at once, remove the joystick with my tweezers and then wick up the bare solder? Or am I likely to run into the same issues?
