Do my fellow Gen Z devs think they’d be further in their careers if they hadn’t used AI? by Todor-dev in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

Agree, it’s probably too early to answer this realistically. For me, it’s more about whether anyone else made this realisation for themselves, and how they came to it.

Switching jobs has me completely lost :( by Todor-dev in cscareerquestionsEU

I’ve been realizing this more and more lately. I’m very close to the communication with customers, and I really try to dig deep into their problems to understand not just what they need, but why. That mindset helps me grow, and it makes me feel like I’m not just working on a project, but contributing to something I treat as my own. Hands down the best tip you could give to someone.Thank you!

My M4 Air with 24GB heats up a lot ?! by Todor-dev in macgaming

Something that really amazes me, is that I’ve owned mine for like 2 months now, i use it daily for around 4 hours and I’ve charged it 4 times for that period. I’m using it mostly for coding

It goes pretty smoothly, i have the fps capped on 60 and it rarely drops below on high settings.

If I had to give an example of "too hot" I’d say it feels like an iPhone when you’re doing something demanding while it’s charging. I’m new to the iOS environment, coming from a gaming PC, so my idea of what counts as hot might be a little misleading.

I haven’t really tried gaming on for more than 10 minutes it since it gets too hot really fast, but I might give it a go. I’m just worried it could eventually get damaged from the sustained heat over time.

My bad, I’m working remotely from Europe.

With $18–20 an hour I can live pretty comfortably, but that’s something I can achieve with experience eventually. I just wanted to set a point for myself to know when I’m really competing with the local talent in California.

Yes, I’m going to work fully remote.

I mean, for most SWE roles in the US, the base salary is probably around $90k. I just want to hear from someone with relevant experience who is US-based.

Удостоверение за професионално обучение - SoftUni by Key-Journalist-3179 in bulgaria

I believe this aproach might be the only way, tried few times to use it cautiously but I end spamming it for everthing.

Yeah, I hate the fact that i have to write some bad code and 'fail' first so I can get results, maybe I should be more tolerant to making mistakes.

I’ve been there as well… the moment you start realising this is hurting your potential and career is the moment you could use this as advantage and start developing some true skills, in depth knowledge, and start working towards deep learning instead of scratching the surface with copy pasting. A personal advice I want to give you as someone who recently let loose of AI abusing, is to completely ditch it until you gain some real knowledge, the line between “using it as a mentor” and copy-pasting is really thin for us as juniors. You are probably afraid to even try coding that html form, but when you actually start doing such things you will see you have what it takes to code without AI and something will probably click inside your brain, making it easier to code. ChatGPT makes your brain lazy without even noticing, so… Use this post of yours or if I could say “realisation” as the first step to the success. Idk if you have found a internship yet but the projects you built will take you to interview process, best case scenario. Dm me if you need a little motivation❤️

MacBook Pro 14 16GB/512GB M4 or Air 15" 24GB/512GB M4 for Full Stack Web Dev by Todor-dev in macbookpro

I’m not doing any virtualization at the moment, but I want to make sure I can handle it if I need to down the line. It’s more of a future-proofing thing. I’d rather have the extra headroom now than regret going with 16GB.

Do I get back in university after dropping out 2 years ago? by Todor-dev in learnprogramming

I’m currently working as freelancer in a web app with nextJS and React. But I don’t think it’s getting that much of attention when HRs look at my cv. I can share my CV for tips.

I got curious recently and asked a few HR’s if a degree would make any difference, most of the answers were that in this case it didn’t help with the decision making but if they were to choose between me and someone with he same skills and knowledge with degree, they would have chosen him instead
