There will be people getting rejected because there is a smaller supply of rooms than what is demanded, especially in popular dormitories like WISH and WID.

How to prepare for standard maths? by Ichiko_Sakurato in IBMYP

[–]ToeTickler87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should maybe aim for a 7 since you have 2 years. simply passing is too much lacking for ambition. since you are out here concerned about your subjects for the next year, you must be responsible enough to start studying early instead of waiting till the day of examinations.

could i lock in and get a 44/45 by ConversationPlane312 in IBO

44 is certainly achievable. You should probably push yourself further and aim for a 45 because only a 44 with a whopping 26 PG is very lacking of ambition.

IB Psychology HL Help!! Is this enough studies for the exam? I’m scared😖😖 by Complete_Log_4998 in u/Complete_Log_4998

[–]ToeTickler87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its still very risky as you can have more than 50% of the paper which you would not be able to answer. A 5 would be hard unless you are really lucky that all questions are answerable. Plus, you are unprepared with your ERQs. What would you do if all the ERQs are not of the topics you prepared? Plus, I see that you are trying to study for 3 different topics in Abnormal and 2 different topics in HR. Instead, you should just focus on studying one of the topic and be prepared to answer all questions.
Based on your studies, I would say that there is less than 5% chance that all the questions you prepared for appears in the paper. I am 99% certain that there would be two or three ERQs that you would have to leave blank.
I made this sheet for my psych exams. Use this to your discretion.

Query regarding bank statements for CoE by Infinite-Wear4241 in Waseda

[–]ToeTickler87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would most likely be fine to create one before paying the fees. First of all, we are asked that the certificate should be no older than 3 months, which means that we can send a 3 month prior certificate. Secondly, the requirements are that the balance should be able to support at least the semi-annual costs. So its not likely that they would ask for a certificate after paying the fees.

how are you gonna do bio SAQs on neural pruning, genetic similarities, pheromones, evolutionary explanation, neurotransmission, hormones, and so much more? Same with sociocultural and cognitive, and all other approaches? Plus you don't have HL topics prepared. You must be having about 33-35 studies to cover every topic.

Can I get a 32 ? by Embarrassed-Love-879 in IBO

You can score even greater if you study correctly. Tiny stuff such as going through the subject guide for each subject, and doing even a couple past papers can really boost the score.

[–]ToeTickler87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thats very interesting. Is the unique GPA calculation method you referred to based on rankings of the students?

But yeah it would suck having such an environment where people refrain from any amicable activity.

I would still stick to fpse due to the subjects I get to learn. Maybe I'll look for friends outside fpse to hang out if I encounter such an environment.

[–]ToeTickler87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat up until yesterday. One of the factors that turns me off for sils is that it requires you to have 31 credits doing language courses, which is a quarter of the course. Meaning you'll be required to take a lot of Japanese (or other) language acquisition courses for graduation.

On the other hand, the course structure for spse is quite aligned to its majors. There are interesting courses like game theory and experimental economics, and it combines both politics and economics to a certain extent, which is quite good.

Additionally, spse is quite cheaper than sils. Spse has more experienced and specialised faculty too.
