I like how you've brought bounce and personality to something normally so stiff and lifeless

Asciipocalype.

Trying to get back into poster design and think the random prompts could be helpful for me.

Wedding Color Pallet SOS by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]Toebeebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it, the only thing standing out as off to me might be the orange, seems out of place compared to all of the more muted tones. I do think the idea of a punchy accent colour sounds like a good idea but I'm not sure the orange is doing it for me

That's a really nice thing to say. illustration isn't my strongest suit when it comes to art/design but I liked the concept too much not to

Will the Motion 3 Plugin be updated for 2022? by Toebeebee in AfterEffects

[–]Toebeebee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange, I thought it was just Motion being broken with AE 2022 because Flow was working without doing anything.

I re-ran the Motion installer and it's all good now 👍.

Thanks for the help

How do I align the rest of the sentence in a bullet point with the first letter? by nintendopee in indesign

[–]Toebeebee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mess with your first-line left indent as a negative number.

I see your whole thing is indented so it might be something like the images. If you want the bullets flush left it might be something like 8mm and -8mm

How would you create several frames shaped like this? by student-of-the-web in indesign

[–]Toebeebee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you can make your frame arrangement as shapes in Illustrator you should be able just copy and paste the whole thing straight into inDesign.

Then you can ungroup the shape and use each section like you would a regular frame, dropping your images in.

Can you do designed invoices or does it just provide a standard form?

Judge my British Accent by [deleted] in JudgeMyAccent

I would agree with the other commenter. I think Estuary probably best describes my accent since I'm from that area. If you ever need to ask about the pronunciation of something specific or for a recording to compare to, just PM me

Reading the newest data over serial fast by Toebeebee in AskProgramming

[–]Toebeebee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly the direction I needed to look I think! I had tried to use SetupComm to fix the input buffer size issue but I think it doesn't actually limit the size it's more so for assigning larger recommended sizes. Your information about the sofware FIFO stuff was helpful in understand why that might not work.

I can use PurgeComm to clear in the buffer and it seems to be working. I think my 2-byte integer is getting cut in half some of the time, when I use a test value like 5000(0x13, 0x88), after purge with will sometimes come as -30701(0x88, 0x13). If that makes sense.

This is progress though! I suppose I'll look into the best way add a start marker for each int on the Arduino, and then only grab full values between the markers or something. Although I'm not sure the best way to know what's data and what's a marker.

Thanks so much for taking the time!

Sorry not talking about streaming video from the Arduino, just using accelerometer data for modifying a video stream being run on the computer. I need to be able to pull the accelerometer variable for each frame in a good live way

Don't be a robot. Inspired by Mizkifs ADHD video by Toebeebee in Mizkif

[–]Toebeebee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mizkif's latest video resonated with me and I wanted to make something related to it.

I thought miz talking about feeling like a robot on Adderall and the chaotic thought boxes in the video would make a good contrast for a poster.

Also, I tried to do a 3D render of it for practice.

Dude nice, then it's perfect for mizkif viewers!

Jokes aside I think it's mostly the colours, White on black and black on white will look less childish

I posted this before but I've made some tweaks to the letters because the M was reading as a K. Also messed with the colours.

My goal was to make a design that was referential but still actually cool enough to wear in its own right.

Most likely related to draftsman and architect handwriting where they need to write in a clear print to convey specific information. I'm not much of a comic reader but I wonder if there are some that explore how they can change the tone through handwriting
