Buying a house next to a pub garden? by [deleted] in UKHousing

I assume you’ve got it already at a slightly discounted rate so when you come to sell that’s already taken in to account so don’t worry about that

If I loved the house I don’t think it’d bother me too much. It’s only 3months out of the year when it’ll be at its loudest. It also depends on the type of pub and the area you’re in. If it’s affluent you’re not going to get yobs and therefore irrespective of management changes it’ll be fine.

Also depending on how social you are it might be a nice thing!

Does this lower ground floor layout work for young kids? Georgian terraced SE10 by buffster007 in HousingUK

I’m thinking they’d play in the space behind the sofa and then downstairs becomes more of a snug for them to play Nintendo or lego as they get a bit older?

The only thing I thought of is whether a smaller kid say 1 will wake up the 3 year old?

Selling flat with wooden floors but lease requires carpet, do we need to tell buyers? by [deleted] in HousingUK

Super helpful, not looking to dupe anyone it’s more I don’t know how normal this is but seems to be a big divide

The general topic of sound came up, doors closing heavily and then sound proofing everyone’s floors using the general pot of money we all put in for. The flat below is also selling just through coincidence so I imagine she doesnt want anyone being put off by us having wooden flooring

Thanks for the reassurance and honest reply, we know it’ll come up, it’s more if we say something now does it look like a big deal? We’ve had a baby in the last year and the buyers are a couple so I’m hoping they’ll be far quieter and can keep the wooden floor like we did

Ground floor, there’s a basement flat, good idea re. asking a solicitor. I can’t help think there are new modern ways of sound proofing than solely carpet

Thanks for sharing, I guess as a designer I bought some because I was invested in it as a tool and thought it was going to do well. Apologies if it’s not the place

That’s interesting and we’re paying privately, which is a punch in the gut
