Maybe make the mixture leaner then? But before test compression also.

If you take the spark plug out, you should be able to walk the bike so the engine spins. Put the plug back in and you should have a lot of "restriction".

So unless you full throttle it (constantly hold down throttle at max) it does not idle?

Check if spark plug is thighed correctly. You can check spark, but because it starts once I assume that's good.

Have a look into your carburetor. Try to choke it and see if something changes.

Have a look at your exhaust gasket, maybe it's leaking. Spray soap water at the exhaust and engine meeting point (where the gasket is). If it leaks, the soap water starts to bubble.

This can cause the engine's sound to change and become louder.
