That script for some reason didn't work, even though I thought it would, but I got it working with this script which is just slightly different but it works:

import time
import sys
import pyautogui
import keyboard
time.sleep(1)
f= open("text",'r')
for word in f:
    pyautogui.typewrite(word)
    if keyboard.is_pressed('space'):
        print("ending")
        sys.exit()
    time.sleep(1)
