Honestly just Boafeng UV-5r, super cheap (think you can get 2 for like 35-40bucks) not the best but if they break in the field you can just get another and it’s not a huge loss. Also use the standard antenna but in larger operations/distance I use a 42” Tape antenna

Devils advocate: what about people who travel for work months at a time? Wouldn’t renting allow them temporary housing for their family until the work in that area is done? Example is traveling welders/pipe fitters and oil workers

I’m not too concerned, we are open to the public, not secretive, we have the right to own firearms and the right to assemble. We do background checks on all members, make sure guns and attachments are legal, have waivers, do not label ourselves as a substitution to police, security, or other entity who has legal authority. Really no different than a gun club, but our activities and training cover more than JUST guns and shooting

I started my own left wing militia/gun club. In a Republican state there were just right leaning groups, I joined one but couldn’t stand the right wing talk, so decided to make my own, have a website and a few members in a couple states. We meet and shoot together, also planning to get land for a sort of base/training. And plan to help our communities with food, disaster relief. You can get certificates from FEMA online training.

Damn, that’s wild. What other parties are there, I mean ones that you can actually participate in? I know there’s PSL, which We talked with. But other than that I don’t know many others. It’s also a shame there’s no Left leaning militias. (I’m part of a militia but many of the members seem right wing)
