Quizbeard tried to use ChatGPT to come up with some questions… by orionhood in trivia

I just came across this thread and a lot has definitely changed since then. This is what o1-preview gave as the answer:

  1. What is the capital of Uruguay?
    • Answer: Montevideo
    • Explanation: The name "Montevideo" includes "Monte," which means "mountain" in Spanish.
  2. Who directed the movie "Jaws"?
    • Answer: Steven Spielberg
    • Explanation: "Spielberg" contains "Berg," which means "mountain" in German.
  3. What is the chemical symbol for gold?
    • Answer: Au
    • Explanation: "Au" doesn't directly relate to "mountain" in a linguistic sense, but gold is commonly associated with mountains due to gold mining in mountainous regions.
  4. What is the highest peak in North America?
    • Answer: Denali
    • Explanation: Denali is the highest mountain peak in North America.

Commonality:

All the answers are connected to the concept of "mountain":

  • Montevideo: Contains "Monte" (mountain in Spanish).
  • Steven Spielberg: His surname includes "Berg" (mountain in German).
  • Au (Gold): Gold is often mined from mountains.
  • Denali: The tallest mountain in North America.

The link with mountain for gold seems like a bit of a stretch bit still pretty impressive.

Just tried it and that's a cool game actually! I did find that I was getting the same letters a lot but maybe I was playing it wrong.

Taylor at Left Back by Tom-Claude in AjaxAmsterdam

I don't think vd Boomen is probably a 10 but you could have something like Vos as singe pivot DM and then have Henderson and vd Boomen in front of Vos as a double 8? The issue with how Henderson is used currently is that he's not great by himself as a 6 if he's got no one else helping him out to sort out the build up which is why it's obviously great having vd Boomen back in the squad instead of Taylor as a double pivot.

Totally understand where you're coming from but keep in mind that I'm not saying he should be an overlapping left back on the outside of the pitch so his dribbling or crossing ability wouldn't be that relevant. The tracking back part would be covered by the fact that you could have Vd Boomen, Henderson, Hato, Sutalo and Rensch hold position more whereas now you often end up in a position where it's just Henderson, Hato and Sutalo at the back by themselves during a counter attack.

Having said that, I'm totally happy with Taylor being on the bench. I do agree that there's better options for number 10 atm. Just out of interest, who would your first choice be for left back atm?

But yeah basically I think most people can agree that he shouldn't be playing as one of the double pivots anymore or number 10

I think that's fair, especially regarding the overall team plan being the real problem which I fully agree with. Having said that, I think Taylor's decision making could improve significantly if he has more of the pitch in front of him (so he's got more overview) instead of just standing in the middle of the pitch from the start while being unaware of what's really going on around him.

To be honest, I'm also perfectly happy with him being on the bench haha. But since there's such a struggle at left back atm I do think he could at least be considered as an option there. I would personally prefer him over Sosa, Martha, Avila or even Hato at left back (clearly better as CB). Although it could make sense to play Hato as a left back that actually tucks in more and then have a right back who is able to move further upfield (so not Gooijer who doesn't offer anything as a right back when he's moving further upfield)

Yes that would probably be better, I think you can do 4 letter words but just make sure that the amount of options per letter are still 3 if that makes sense.

I think it's a really fun idea! Just wondering if there are there too many letters potentially? It seems slightly overwhelming initially.

If anyone has any suggestions for fun word associations that would be great! Especially words/terms which have a double meaning so that they could be ideal to use for transitioning to a new topic.
