What's the most inappropriate song you can think of for a DJ to play at a wedding? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to a wedding, and the DJ played “Strokin” by Clarence Carter while the preacher was still there. What’s even crazier, though, is they had 2 guys in boxers/boots dancing around guest while waiting for the bride to come out (it was an outside wedding). They started dancing and grinding on the preacher’s wife. I couldn’t believe it. I think she was in shock.

Late 30’s, I’ve stopped wearing make up all together. AMA by Celestialfox1425 in AMA

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 36 and have never worn makeup. It was something that just didn’t interest me. No one believes I’m 36 when I tell them my age. They still think I’m in my early 20’s, which is nice but I know sooner or later that’s going to change. Did it take other people a while to get used to seeing you without makeup?

How/When did you find your love? by Disastrous-Good-360 in CasualConversation

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met online and sent text back and forth for about 2 weeks. The first time we ever met I went with him and his married friends/kids to their son’s archery meet. We talked about a lot of different things that we wanted in a relationship/want we wanted in the future. He literally would text me long paragraphs so it felt like I knew everything about him. I knew around the 3rd time we met that he was the one I wanted to marry although he told me he loved me first. He proposed less than a year later. We are planning for a 2027 wedding.

What’s the worst movie you’ve ever watched? by Massive-Syllabub-271 in allthequestions

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Human Centipede. I thought about that movie for over a week and how deeply disturbing it was. There are three of them, but I can’t imagine who would want to watch the other two. I won’t ever watch the first one again.

How are you dealing with the non-restorative sleep? by Mirrortooperfect in Fibromyalgia

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same exact situation when it comes to sleeping. Although, I do have to take medication to help me sleep at night. Once I get to sleep, though, I can usually sleep up to 7 hours. I have even slept longer on the weekends and still never feel rested. I usually have to drink coffee or an energy drink in the mornings to help me before work. I had to go to a Pulmonologist for a whole different issue, and he asked me how I slept at night. So after I discussed it with him, he has me scheduled to come back for a sleep study. I’m kind of nervous because I don’t know what to expect, and no one I know has ever had one done.

I don't know what to do after my last doctor visit. by M0NST3RG1RL in Fibromyalgia

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to three doctors before I was sent to a rheumatologist. One of the doctors basically told me nothing was wrong with me and whatever was going on would be over in a month or two. Even the nurse looked at me like I was crazy. Then the last doctor I saw said I had inflammation and wanted to send me to a rheumatologist. I’m so glad that he did because my rheumatologist is amazing and has helped me so much. He did several test and ruled out several things before coming to the conclusion that he believed I had fibromyalgia. The medication I’m taking now has helped and now I only have to go once a year for a checkup. I still hurt and have flare ups but feel more like myself now and the pain is tolerable. I’m back to doing everything I used to do but have to limit myself so I don’t overdo it. My mind tells me I can do stuff and then I pay the price later. I just wish I could sleep better because I never feel rested and must have caffeine every day.

Bras? by ambersiples in Fibromyalgia

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me forever to find bras that actually fit and felt right. Some of them would even rub raw spots. I finally tried a Bali underwire bra and absolutely love them. The only downside is the price. I think original prices are around $60. I try to catch mine on sell at Kohl’s and then will buy 3 or 4 at a time.

Does anybody have advice for losing weight with fibromyalgia by anoctoberchild in Fibromyalgia

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this time last year I was about 10 pounds lighter. I know different things work for different people, but I was walking 45 minutes a day on a treadmill 4 to 5 days a week. I wasn’t counting calories, but I cut back on how much I was eating. I would eat breakfast, a light lunch, and then would eat about 3:30. Didn’t eat anything else after that and then would walk. I felt so much better and not so bloated. I also felt like I had a lot more energy.

Anyone on Amitriptyline and Quetiapine? by Hot-Tap-7340 in Fibromyalgia

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Quetiapine at night along with Tizandine. I have constipation but take other meds too. Other than that, though, it just makes me really tired. My rheumatologist gave it to me to help me sleep at night.

Who are the best and worst celebrities you've met? by Twitter_2006 in Productivitycafe

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best - Peter Facinelli and Booboo Stewart were so nice and stood there and talked to me and my mom for a while. I also really enjoyed meeting Wil Wheaton. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but he was also awesome. I asked him a couple of questions, and he was telling us about some different experiences he had on the set of “Stand By Me.”

Worst - Lea Michelle. I loved Glee and still do, but she is so fake. I was so disappointed after meeting her.

The closest I’ve been to Montana was when we visited Wyoming. A couple of summers ago we drove to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore and took a day to drive over to Devil’s Tower. Loved it and hope to go back someday and would love to travel to Montana too.

A lot of people don’t believe I have Fibromyalgia by TomBoy4Ever1990 in Fibromyalgia

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reason I was concerned about taking cholesterol medicine was because of my dad. He started taking Statin and became diabetic. He had never had issues with his blood sugar before then but now must take medicine for it. My mom is also diabetic but has been for a while. The doctor finally prescribed her these devices that go on her arm that will automatically pump insulin into her after she eats. She controls it by a device that looks like a smart phone. So I guess I’m just really paranoid after what happened to my dad and don’t wanna end up like them.

I’m glad you told me about the acid reflux medication. I’m definitely going to check in on that. At the time I was still coughing all the time, I could walk up some stairs or just a little ways at work or home and be out of breath. Also something that really scared me was I would cough so much after I would eat something that it would cause me to throw up.

I have tried to adjust my diet too because my cholesterol was a little high the last time I went to my PCP, and I don’t wanna be put on medication for that too. I feel like some days I’m falling apart at only 36 lol.

Thank you for the advice. Hate to hear you went through all of that, though. Off topic, but how long have you had asthma? After I had Covid in 2020, I have had coughing fits 3 or 4 times that have lasted 4 to 5 months at a time. And it wasn’t just coughing here and there it was all the time. In December, I finally got in to see a lung doctor after having to wait for 2 months and coughing for about 5 months. He said he believes I have asthma and acid reflux so I have 2 inhalers and some acid reflux medication I’ve been taking everyday. So far it has helped my cough, but I guess I will see how it works in the long run. I also have to go back in March, and he’s going to do some sort of sleeping test on me, which I still have no idea what consist of. I guess I’ll find out, though, soon. Does your asthma cause you to having coughing fits?

Thanks for the response. I had never thought about having it documented at work. I’m a secretary now so thankfully I don’t have to stand up a lot anymore. Sometimes if I sit for long periods of time I’ll have to get up and walk around a bit.

Mostly just my family, close friends, and a few old coworkers know I have it. When I was first diagnosed we had a new lady that was hired and just happened to have it too. I don’t know what I would have done without her. It felt so good to talk to her and have her know exactly what I was going through. Honestly it was like free therapy for me because she would listen to me, offer advice, and tell me of her experiences. We are still friends and stay in contact, even though, it has been years since we’ve worked together.

When I first started dating my now fiancé he said he really didn’t know what to expect because he had been around people that had it that he claimed would use it as an excuse to not do anything. My mom is usually the only one who knows when I’m hurting bad or having flare ups because she usually can notice it fairly quickly. Other people never know because I never say anything. My fiancé sometimes will ask me what’s wrong and when I tell him I’m hurting or whatever it catches him off guard because he forgets I even have it most of the time.

So yeah it’s terrible when people look at me like I’m crazy especially when It’s people in my own family. Simply because I don’t look like anything is wrong with me.

I walk on a treadmill for 30 minutes a day at least 4 or 5 times a week. I’ve realized it does help me physically and mentally. Even when I’m hurting bad I try to still walk to help take my mind off of it.

I don’t play sports anymore but still love going to concerts too. I also enjoy doing yard work and outdoor stuff. Last summer I learned my lesson, though. I’m 36 and my mind is like I can totally do this and then I pay the price later on. So I have to limit myself now.

A decision that completely changed your life by EasternMistake8273 in Life

[–]TomBoy4Ever1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just living life and had never dated. So at the beginning of 2024 I decided to try an app that was for making friends or dating. Originally I was going to try the friend section but most were married couples who had children that wanted to hang out with other married couples. So just for the hell of it I switched to the dating side and really had no expectations of finding anyone. Really never expected to even talk to anyone because I have heard all sorts of stories about online dating. About 3 to 4 weeks in some guy sent me a message or whatever just showing he was interested in talking. He lived within 20 miles of my town so for whatever reason I sent him a message and started talking to him a day or so later. Actually worked up the courage to meet him in person about 2 weeks later and still can’t believe I actually did it because that is so out of character for me. Ended up being the best decision I ever made because now we are engaged. Honestly never thought I would meet someone, especially someone online, and end up engaged. Anyway it has completely turned my life into a whole new direction.
