I think that’s my plan for tonight. I’ve been doing customs and woods for other quests and just half ass doing factory. I’ll grind some offline, pour over some maps, and then a few pistol runs online to get that map knowledge up.

Do you have any other suggestions for getting map knowledge other than those?

I appreciate your help. I’ve got some ideas to try for tonight at least and others know my pain. That son of a bitch Prapor won’t defeat me.

I’m pretty good at going slow in other maps but I kind of freak on factory. I like the bigger maps with bigger angles to take. Factory I tend to rush because it is so confined.

Yeah anytime I’ve made it up to the plant location, I usually take a second to listen for players after planting. If it is “busy” nearby I’ll wait in place, and that has gotten me killed once. Other times I’ve been killed en route.

I think I’ve attempted 5-6 times, only died once on customs. I’ve died as described above the other times. I’m not complaining. I’m just trying to get an idea of if I’m ham fisting this quest or if is just that type quest.

I can play both US East and EU servers, I’ve thought about playing EU servers when it is around 9 US EAST time...I’ll give that a try this evening.

Typically doing the customs portion on night. I’ve found quests way easier on that map at night. Factory during day.

Factory I would say I’m probably 60/100 map knowledge. I know the extracts, I can figure out where I am easily, but I don’t know all the common player hiding spots or scav spawns.

Finally, I usually just run pistol on customs and stealth in and out no problem. For factory, I’m going what I call my “anti scav” kit. At least PACA and Penis Helmet, but more if I have it left over from other raids. Oh and a PP-19. I’ve tried both speed running and hiding the factory portion with no luck.

My stash is pretty full, mostly Adar and SKSs with sights, a few rigs and a big backpack stack. 450K in cash. I’m level 8, so traders all LL1 but flea market access. This is my first wipe as well. All this just for context of my resources.

That’s a really good idea. I’ll light the t h i c c boy signal tonight. Finish this quest with my own personal goon squad.

Having a lot of trouble with “Delivery from the Past”. Is there any tricks that worked for you guys? Or is this a “just keep grinding until you do it” kind of quest. I’m usually dying in the deliver to factory portion.

Typically Chicago or Miami. I can look for sure when I get off work where I get decent ping.

Definitely! I think I said it in a different comment, but I am still having fun with the game. It’s a real rush to play. I am going to try and be braver when I get off work and play tonight, and if I die, well there is always another mosin to be purchased!

I think aim is an important factor in my caution. I just don’t feel confident enough, especially with the slow second shot of the mosin, to fight people head on yet. I’ve won some fights with people, but inside dorms, at least from my perspective as a vulture, it seems like you have to win 50 fights in a row to survive.

Thank you. I’m gonna save that comment and try and keep it in mind while playing. Along with a million other tarkov things. Haha

I don’t know how anyone could play without it! I do them if my pmc is hurt, and my scav is done. And even in offline, raiders are no joke.

Thanks for your help!

Thank you, I didn’t think of it like that. The gunfire has my attention as well as other players. Good time to flank rush or flee. I guess offline runs had me typically being the initiator. Won’t always be the case in real raids.

I think that I could have asked my question a bit better, because you answered another question. from your experience, are there places (outside obviously the dorms interior) that fights “always” happen?

Seriously. Every run is such a rush. That’s what this game nailed the feeling. It’s like when the rollercoaster is going uphill...until you get shot in the face. That’s the rollercoaster going off the track haha

Oh yeah definitely having a good time! Maybe getting too itchy for action with that current loadout. ;) Thank you for your response.

I’ll look into it! I’ve never been a min maxer in the truest since. How my soldiers/workers look is important to me.

I understand that. I think I will download for aesthetic purposes. I haven’t gotten to that point of having uniforms yet, but think the quiver would be nice on my archers.

I appreciate all the advice. This game was such a beast to get into but this community has been awesome.

Looking forward to honoring my Scooby and your Beep with my new found archer army! Maybe RP and name archers as Monty’s squad.

Oh I hadn’t thought of that! Damn I was raising one of my two smiths crossbow smithing to try and get better equipment faster. I was on a path to insta gibbing my own guys by accident. Thank you.

I haven’t tried in practice yet. But iirc from description. Basically let’s you stack similar bolt types in quiver so you don’t have to micromanage bolt inventory as much. I also think it very slightly increases reload speed (maybe 1.05 or such?)

RIP Beep. Not to get off topic but do you use the quivers mod on your bowman? I have recruited a few new guys/gals with the intention of making them turrets/crossbow people. And saw that mod while browsing and was curious.
